Great season. Weak episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Here's the problem: Nobody who can drive says the fastest way to get round a corner is to drift it. It's not a myth, it's a very commonly known fact. So I'm a bit confused why Adam and Jamie chose to dedicate a whole show to busting a non-existent myth.. A huge amount of time was given over to teaching the team to drift, which wasn't overly exciting, and the end result was a foregone conclusion. The rest of this season was really excellent: Great builds and some truly clever design work. Exactly what hoped would happen when the 'Awesome' Junior team got dropped. I just hope we don't get too many episodes like this one in future. Maybe Adam and Jamie just fancied a day thrashing round a track..

I can't believe some people think drifing is faster

This episode consisted of Adam and Jamie learning to drift, in an attempt to compare it to normal race driving, you know... with out all of the ludicrous sliding about like you were too cheap to buy GOOD quality tires for your car. The younger generation of "gear heads" or "petrol heads", is sadly mistaken on things like this along with the loud mufflers that the slap on their little 4 cylinder engines. I figure they were never taught as little kids that slapping your feet on the ground does NOT mean you're going fast. I just means you're making lots of noise.

Anyways, the idea of drifing being faster ranks up there with an earlier myth they covered of shooting with the gun held sideways. Done simply because it's "cool". But those of us who know better, see it for what it really is.

Silly.
