Why Does the Man Not Sleep?
Abdusction (2015)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
This eleven minute short from writer-director Dustin Mills has a man (Dave Parker) talking with his therapist on why he never sleeps. The man finally reveals that at night he is visited by a dark light, which he believes are aliens. If you're expecting any sort of brutal violence or gore then you can pretty much forget that. I really like what Mills was trying to do here and for the most part I thought it was a success. This is more a psychological film and while you don't get wrapped up in the characters mental state to the fullest it's at least enough to keep you entertained throughout the running time. Once again the B&W cinematography is a major plus and you'll certainly want to sit through the closing credits.
