For this film, director Satinder Kassoana wanted a real Sikh person, who can speak Quebec French and has acting experience. It turned out that Rup Magon was the only actor who had all three attributes. So selection was done before even Satinder met Rup.
The lead actor Rup was born in Quebec and faced racial dilemma in his teen years. Not only this helped him connect to the character, but his suggestions also shaped up the story.
On this 6 month long project, budget was a real constraint. Hence Satinder Kassoana ended up doing everything almost by himself. He wrote the film, did all the casting, controlled pre and post production, directed, edited, mixed background score, designed all graphic props, drove actors between home and locations, color graded etc.
