The title of the series, Tulisuudelma, is a Finnish name for the famous Argentine tango "El Choclo", originally written by Angel Gregorio Villoldo. The instrumental version of the tango is often played live by the dance orchestra during the opening credits. The name Tulisuudelma translates into English as "Kiss of Fire", which itself is the name of several American adaptions of El Choclo.
The series ran eight seasons during the years 1990-1995 and 1997-1998. Klaus Thomasson hosted six of the seasons with different female co-hosts (often ex-beauty pageant contestants).
