Having arranged safe passage with Hezbollah Carrie heads to Beirut and heads to the camp where she learns that the group's safety can only be guaranteed for one hour. Later when her boss, Otto Düring, comes for his visit to the camp Carrie becomes worried as their allotted hour come to an end and Düring is still shaking hands and posing for photographs. Her concerns are proved valid when they are attacked
but it later emerges that Düring was not the target! Back in Germany the repercussions of the data hack are becoming clear; the Germans want a major head to roll and Saul tells station chief Allison Carr that she is going to have to step down
she has other ideas though and goes over his head; who will ultimately have to leave Germany remains to be seen. In a third plot thread Peter Quinn is going after his next target; a woman who is recruiting German Muslim girls for terrorist groups in the Middle East.
After a good opening episode things remain just as interesting in this instalment. Inevitably tensions rise when action moves to the Middle East; this was particularly true as their allotted hour came to an end and Carrie started spotting suspicious characters. The political tension was also kept high as Allison and Saul clash over who should be the one to be sacrificed for the sake of good relations with the Germans. The story of Peter Quinn is just as interesting too; we see that his target was a real threat but there is something a little too cold about his actions that lead one to wonder how things will go for this character. As always the cast goes a great job; this isn't just the central cast; the actors who only appear briefly are also good. Overall another really good episode that nicely balanced the various intertwined plot lines.
