Sex & Nudity

  • In a cutscene before a multiplayer match, a woman is shown kissing a man.

Violence & Gore

  • Some bloodied dead bodies can be seen.
  • Frequent amounts of strong graphic sci-fi violence. Though it is somewhat unrealistic due to the weapons, the map design and the magical abilities. That said, it can be pretty brutal.
  • When hitting a enemy with the Sparrow, they will literally blow up.
  • We see on a TV screen people being tortured in the campaign. This is extremely disturbing, but it can be censored by turning off the blood and gore.
  • The game is set in the future where you'll be fighting against humans and an evil AI. But it should be noted that the violence is much higher than "Black Ops II".
  • A few scary moments occur throughout the campaign, some of them involving graphic violence.
  • A sign in one map says: "Robots must kill humans".
  • It should be noted that there is a content filter which tones down the blood and language.

Profanity

  • Moderate swearing but very infrequent.
  • 'F-ck' is used frequently in the campaign and zombies modes.
  • In the voice chat you will hear pretty much everything.
  • Some characters swear when using their gear.
  • In some maps, there is inappropriate language on walls and floors (such as graffiti).
  • Only training modes have no profanity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In the Shadows of Evil cutscenes, Nero is shown drinking alcohol. Later in the scene, Floyd and Vincent are shown drinking as well. This part can be skipped, however
  • In the Shadows of Evil zombie map, the detective (Jack Vincent) is shown lighting and smoking a cigarette. Frequent bottles of wine, beer, and ashtrays can be seen around the map. Jack also references about drinking often when the player drinks perk bottles while playing as him, such as not having taste.
  • A scene in the campaign shows men inside a hospital getting injected with some sort of drug (Most likely morphine). Occasional references to drugs in the campaign, none of these are strong. In the main menu for campaign and dead ops arcade, a character is seen smoking a cigar. Some soldiers are briefly seen smoking cigars in campaign.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The "Zombies" mode can get frightening and intense as always.
  • With the graphic content disabled, it can be fine for 14+.
  • Through the Shadows of Evil, there is a large 3 headed monster that will chase and slam the player with tentacles. If it loses a head, it runs faster and teleports while roaring and yelling
  • Many multiplayer situations can be intense.
  • Players can be put in life-threatening situations, all of which can get very intense.
  • This game contains plenty of bloodshed, dismemberment and intense violence that make this game not suitable for anyone under at least the age of 16-17. It's also much darker than its predecessors, having an incredibly bleak and hopeless tone as well as some very frightening moments.

Spoilers

  • Later in the multiplayer, you unlock a flamethrower called "The Purifier". Only flames and no blood is shown when using it.

  • Zombies has fake weapons like rayguns and lasers
