Honesty

Warning: Spoilers
I have to admit that after all these years of characters either not telling the truth or making illogical decisions in order for a new plot point to arise, you would have thought I would be used to it, but 'Taken' proved to have one too many head scratching moments for my liking. But other than that, it was a well-rounded and emotional filled episode that succeeded in most areas.

We began seeing Felicity trying to walk again after last week's reveal that Curtis created a bio stimulator for her and we ended with her seemingly fully healed after walking out on Oliver. For Felicity, the idea of her being able to walk right as she broke it off with Oliver served as a good metaphorical link to her making her own decision and using her own strength in terms of the relationship and walking but I just didn't feel that the decision in the first place was the logical one.

I backed the Felicity character up last year when she made the "I don't want to be a woman you loved" speech but I can't really back her up now. She heard everything she needed to hear in this episode from Samantha and Oliver when it comes to him not telling her about William, but yet she still broke it off. I'm not as pro Olicity as I used to be, but I just would have liked to see a better end although I did like that they kept virtually the same dialogue as the break up had months back in the crossover episode.

This week saw the first live action appearance of Vixen, who currently has her own animated series with its second season on the way this summer on CW Seed. Constantine was unavailable as Oliver said he's in literal hell, but I guess I can forgive Oliver's over used "I think I know someone" gag one more time if it means we got to see a new hero but I think her presence felt underwhelming surprisingly. I really liked the actresses' performance, but I think the action with her character didn't really fit the tone of the show. Her powers seemed goofy, cheesy, and sometimes even awkwardly unnecessary as I think she fits more into the animated series better or perhaps Legends of Tomorrow down the line. Although I did enjoy Oliver's line "we had an animated encounter last year", very subtle Arrow writers. Very subtle.

Vixen decided to give Oliver her own advice about his son as she had her own parental issues growing up but I thought Diggle's speech was a lot better. Oliver has seen Diggle's parenting first hand and how well he has adjusted over this year and a half, wouldn't you think he would take advice from someone as close to him as Diggle, rather than someone he met less than a year ago? That bothered me a bit.

Laurel had a few moments this week as she also dealt with the revelation that Oliver has a son. I can't help but notice that in the same episode that Felicity and Oliver broke up, Laurel cried over something related to Oliver. Not sure if we are supposed to look into that at all but her struggling with the fact that Oliver lied to her about something again made sense to me. I don't want to see them get back together, but I have liked the direction they are taking Laurel much more than I have in previous seasons.

Before Darhk was de-powered he shared several terrifying instances with Team Arrow. Him showing up in the parking garage with Oliver and Felicity was eerie although the trailer spoiled that last week. But I really liked that he once again seemed as if he was one step ahead of Team Arrow at every corner. The fact that his powers are apparently gone proposes an interesting question. Is this the time that Malcom steps in and becomes the big bad? I hardly think Darhk is done but it felt like a weird place to leave him in.

The flashbacks this week were kind of stupid as we saw a zombie-like version of Conklin making threats against people in the prison. It made me laugh. In present day, plenty of questions still are up in the air. I was tending to lean towards Thea being in the grave again, but It would be weird to see her put in a death situation again. So I guess the only real options are Lance, Diggle, or Lyla? Being the new head of ARGUS certainly puts a target on Lyla's back, but I don't see it coming from Darhk or Malcom. I do still believe that Oliver saying "I'm gonna kill him" is him referencing Malcom somehow. But we shall see. In all, It was an enjoyable episode but a few logic issues kept it from being as good as it should have been. Another great performance from Amell in the last scene as that makes two straight weeks we ended with a bittersweet moment.

+Amell's performance as he dealt with everything

+Laurel's moments

+Oliver & Dig rooftop scene

+Felicity can walk

+Darhk being terrifying

-Vixen's powers looked goofy in live action

-Logic issues

-Zombie Conklin

One of the best episode of this season

Warning: Spoilers
One of the best episodes of the season This episode reminds me of the episode "Haunted" with the appearance of Constantine earlier in the season, he is mentioned. But what's great is that Oliveraie solicits the help of Vixen who we finally see out of animation.the use of his abilites against Darkh + the help of speedy,Spartan, black canary and green arrow was great. I understand the pain that laurel feels inside. The same goes for Felicity even though she continues to be a pain in the ass towards the end of the episode. Felicity's morals and judgement are what kills her character. I also don't understand Malcolm's motives towards Thea which are more than illogical. Otherwise on an emotional level Oliver and Samantha's story with their son is touching. I find Oliver and Samantha's story a little more interesting than Felicity and Oliver. Same goes for Laurel.

Arrow - S04E15 Taken

Warning: Spoilers
I was a bit undecided about the beginning of this episode. It felt like we were jumping in mid episode. Within the first couple of minutes we were already onto our 3rd scene, the first being Felicity trying to walk again, the second was a flash back to Oliver on the island and the third was Darhk showing up and forcing Oliver to reveal to Felicity that William was his son. Although the start wasn't great, it did lay down a platform to which the episode was built off. I really enjoyed the inclusion of Vixen this episode. I watched the animated origin story of Vixen when it was released by CW and really enjoyed it, and since then I have been looking forward to her live action debut. I thought they did a great introduction to her, explaining her powers for those who did not see the animated series. In the end, Vixen was the real hero, destroying Darhk's idol.

The usual Diggel pep talk was great as usual. Diggel has been fantastic this season, coming from really hating Oliver at the start of the season to returning back to his best friend seat giving Oliver a great voice of reason. To me Diggel is the every man that is in no way has any special abilities but some how manages to be a stand out amongst the other characters each episode. His pep talk for this episode was my favourite moment of this whole episode. Just beating out Darhk's line of "Well, that happen."

Although it was a good episode, it wasn't the best in anyway. It did however allow us to see the repercussions of Oliver keeping his secret about William, something we have been waiting to see for a while now. I was a little surprise about Felicity's reaction, although she was upset, she understood. I really thought that this event would evidently end up costing Felicity the ring on her finger straight away rather than the end of the episode.

Boring

Warning: Spoilers
I may be very subjective on this, but I started to watch Arrow as a very good action movie, with a very interesting ( and attractive : ) ) main character, with a complicated life and complicated relationships...

But now, watching a "superhero" Vixen with black lipstick and a plastic trinket around her neck as "totem" which helps her transforming in a gorilla was really goofy and cheesy, as other comments said..

I am sorry for repeating myself but...you cannot cover with one series fans from 10 to 70 years old...Showing Arrows relations with the Huntress, romantic scenes with Shado, etc , the violence of his life on island and back, situated this series in a more adult segment of audience in the beginning. Now, popping "Vixen"in, with her goofy appearance ( my 12 years old child yawned..), also Dahrk superpowers, positioned this series in children movies...Please, can you decide to whom you address, to know if we continue watching or not?

This episode represents the worst writing due to "business reasons" in TV history.

Warning: Spoilers
CW just *had* to do it. Want to see an example of circular reasoning that pointy- haired bosses use all of the time that result in people going, WHAT!? That's STUPID!" Here you go.

1. Remember, CW knew from episode 1x03 that Emily Bett Rickards and Stephen Amell have amazing chemistry as a couple. Thus, "Olicity" was a predictable outcome from the beginning. The writers **knew** they would have to do something with this issue. There was no guessing of any sort involved.

2. Three entire seasons have gone by, and considering the season 3 finale, it is obvious to the writers that there are many fans who want to see Felicity and Oliver develop into a happy couple. Refer back to #1.

3. Remember the motto: "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."

Therefore, the claim that "their relationship was moving too fast, so we had to slow it down" was an unanticipated surprise to them is pure nonsense. But, that's just one of the excuses given for "having to break them up". It was an "emergency"! No time to think!
