- Olivia vows to find a way to make her brother pull his own weight or move out of her home, as an oblivious Will starts to overstay his welcome and relies too heavily on her help. Jack tries to smooth things over at the Seattle Courier after he is offered Jeri's job, but when Jeri finds out, her fury at being ousted presents Jack with a test of loyalty. Meanwhile, Warren is seething after he finds out Olivia has sold her share of Charlotte's house to Buck behind his back.
- Olivia is having problems with Will of a different nature than usual as he has barged into living at her house with no indication of leaving anytime soon, while not lifting a finger to help with anything. Olivia realizes that all the women in his life, including their mother and his ex-wife, have made Will the man he is, and she vows to be the one to change him. After being offered the editor's job at the Seattle Courier, Jack feels he still has to have Jeri's back in trying to get David to reconsider firing her from that position. What happens places Jack in a quandary in more ways than one. In their support for the other in dealing with these issues, Olivia and Jack seem to be getting their relationship back on track. With a spare ticket and him there, Alex asks Paul if he'd like to accompany her to a Mariners game. It isn't until after he accepts that he realizes that it is a date, which would be his first since his divorce. He has to decide if he's ready, even if it's just as friends. Warren feels betrayed by Buck, who he learns has bought Olivia's share of the Jeffers' family home, with a rider stating that he will not develop the property. Warren's negative feelings toward his father's move are strengthened when he learns what Buck intends to do with the house. Grace is trying to organize the next town event, a second hand swap, and co-opts Maryellen, who ends up doing more work than she bargained for. After speaking to Matt about his family life, Luke comes to the conclusion that he has to be up front with Justine about an issue which may be a deal breaker in their relationship. Still on probation, overworked and sleep-deprived Rebecca refuses to ask for any help, which may end up working against her. And Gloria learns that someone has been snooping into her private affairs, that person who she suspects is Rebecca.—Huggo
