"When I first saw Flash Gordon, it changed my life." Cleopatra Entertainment has released a trailer for the indie documentary Life After Flash, which premiered at a film festival last year and is opening later this month for those curious about it. Directed by Lisa Downs, Life After Flash looks at the roller coaster life of actor Sam J. Jones since his role as Flash Gordon, his struggles and successes, and the aftermath of when he went up against one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood. Flash Gordon was Jones' second role in a feature film and a big breakout for him, but he struggled to get any good work after it. The doc is half about Jones, and half about how Flash Gordon became an icon of the 80s. Looks a bit cheesy, for fans only. The 44th edition of the Boston SciFi Film Festival is returning to Somerville, Ma in February. Over eleven days attendees can attend screenings, workshops and panels which delve into the world of SciFi. A highlight of the festival will be the opening night film Life After Flash, directed by Lisa Down and starring Sam Jones of the 1980 film. Both will be in attendance that night. Frightfest opening film The Ranger
The full line-up for this year's Arrow Video Frightfest was announced today, and it's full of horror treats. Opening with Jenn Wexler's The Ranger, a fast-paced, punk-scored actioner starring Chloe Levin, it will close with Gaspar Noé’s Climax. Zombie musical Anna And The Apocalypse, dystopian thriller White Chamber and Irish shocker The Devil's Doorway are among the other highlights.
Fans will also get the chance to attend the première of a documentary about the festival itself, Chris Collier's Frighfest: Beneath The Dark Heart Of Cinema, and Flash Gordon star Sam J Jones documentary Life After Flash adds to the fact-based fun, plus there's a retrospective screening of Julien Temple's Sex Pistols docudrama The Great Rock N' Roll Swindle.

Since its inaugural edition in 2014, the Chattanooga Film Festival (Cff) in Tennesse has developed into an essential destination on the U.S. regional film festival circuit. Cff's programming is defined by a carefully curated mix of arthouse, genre and documentary tiles along with a range of cool guests and unique special events. The first programming announcments for Cff 2018, which runs from April 5-8, have been made and there is a lot to be excited about it.
