Only Sid Lucero can play Toto. He exudes charm and confidence and essayed the struggle of Toto very well. His American Dream of applying for a US visa has left him to resort to illegal ways. He tried to fake a family and later tried to marry a girl to get his visa.
Anyone who has applied for a visa would find it hard to believe that a fake passport would go unnoticed, nevermind the farce of faking a family. But that's just the point of the story, he would go to wild extremes to fulfill his dreams. If you are willing to let this slide, then you will surely find Toto a worthwhile 2 hour fun.
Bibeth Orteza played Toto's mom for a few scenes, but left an indelible mark. In their conversation, Toto hints she is too weak because of her cancer. To which she replied, "between the two of us, it's you who are weak". This is because Toto was quick to resort to illegal ways just to fulfill his dreams.
Overall, an engaging movie of hopes and dreams, worth your 2 hours. Watching Lucero is refreshing here.
