The Blue Jean Committee is a fictional band originally created by Bill Hader and Fred Armisen for Saturday Night Live (1975)
The Billboard Magazine scene, showing three of Blue Jean Committee's songs in the Top 5, is actually a slightly altered version of the Hot 100 chart for the week ending August 3, 1974. The actual No.1 for the week was "Annie's Song" by John Denver. The No. 4 and No. 5 spots were held by Steely Dan's "Rikki, Don't Lose That Number" and Paper Lace's "The Night Chicago Died," respectively.
