Brian hoped to become a dashing field agent, but Rebecca's superior mistrusts him and assigns him a desk job as analyst. Brian is relieved when suggested he can confide in his father using lawyer-client confidentiality, but notices the nurse is on the senator's pay-role. As the FBI investigates the apparent accidental death of an investigative reporter, Brian proves able to work out it's a crime to cover up a more elaborate plot, even if that requires throwing off his office guards and roaming about the city, and again despite a threat that would get him fired.
