Great storyline

Great story, good characters and not all total silliness that gets boring very quickly.

The story arch is compelling and it feels like a real adventure, educational and inspiring.

My daughter lives it. (and I like it too).

My 13 y/o son LOVED this TV series and couldn't wait to watch the next one. I really wish there were more seasons and more episodes of this TV series, b/c it was clean AND educational, which is so hard to find these days. My son loves anything that deals w/sea creatures, so this was the perfect show for him, and b/c it was shown on Netflix, he didn't see any commercials, and could go from one episode to the next. Please consider making more shows for this series. Would there be a way to be notified if more episodes come out? I highly recommend this series to parents!!!! Thank you for making quality shows like this so I don't have to worry about the content of what my son is watching!!! Lisa Moon

Finally! An original concept for a Family TV Show!

Came across this by accident. I am in my 60's and my grandchild is 2 - we BOTH love the series. Members of our family who are between those ages do as well. The messaging, the script, the ideas, the graphics, the originality are stellar! My only complaint is that there's only 2 seasons.

Well made. Enjoyable and worthwhile content for older children. Young ones will likely be scared at times so not appropriate viewing for them. Parents will probably end up watching this too(I did!).

This is a great series. Both educational and exciting! My kids LOVE it (Miss 8 and Mr 10). Stumbled across it during school holidays - then downloaded the whole series which they devoured! So refreshing to find quality TV programs at a time when there's so much junk around.

We're really hoping there'll be a series 2. Please!!! We'll keep checking and hoping it goes on to further series.

P.S: The kids love the pet fish. They have a pet turtle and frogs and now wish we could build a special tank that wraps around our house - and they'd love a submarine too!

Outstanding writing and execution - even adults like it

Wow. My daughter (now 2nd grade) and I have just watched these 2 seasons for a 2nd time. This is quality literature and quality programming. I truly enjoyed watching them with her while I cooked dinner each evening.

We don't watch pony or most fairy shows because, well, those are mostly junk food TV. And we're not geeks. We're just normal.

Netflix - Please pick up this programming. The creators and execution team have done a fantastic job.

Please someone sign up this team for another season!!!

I truly believe that if others knew about this show, that you'd see the potential.

Everyone in our family was intrigued with the story-line and excellent quality of these episodes. This is some of the best shows our family has watched in quite some time from my youngest to my 17 year old and even us grand parents, we were glued to our seats as we watch these amazing shows! Thank you for The Deep, I whole heartedly hope you are able to continue with this series! At the very least if there is more written, bring out a book series! I know if we are informed they will be in our family library as well as our towns library!

Absolutely love this show and how it brings science and conservation into a format kids can understand. Everyone says how they love watching it with their kids but I'm not ashamed to say I'm 18 and just watch it because I love it. You don't need kids to enjoy this masterpiece.

I was intrigued by it one day, watching here and there, but after binging it on Netflix, a lot comes apart. Inconsistent animation, the dialogue hoakey. It is a shame, I usually take to new animation that isn't sausage mouth(ie most of the new animation nowadays) but this kind of disappoints me. Now this is my opinion, if you are a fan of it, or at least give it go. This is just not for me.

Excellent underwater sci-fi

I loved this. There's not much underwater sci-fi out there and this is great - informative, exciting, and with some cool tech' (the sub' the Aronnax is almost Tethyan in its coolness). The characters are well rounded, not at all your typical competent martyr mum, hapless dad, and clever kids. Mum Keiko is an expert pilot, dad Will is a myth-hunting marine expert, their (younger) son Ant is a genius with a remarkable pet fish, and their (older) daughter Fontaine is sassy and sceptical. The kids in particular are both likable in their different ways and also annoying (when they bicker). The plots are always more than you think they will be, with just enough hard science in the mix to ensure that there are no easy ways out, and here and there just a sprinkling of the supernatural. The bad guys also deserve a mention, the pirate crew of the Dark Orca (another brilliant conception) with Hammerhead, Mad Madeleine (his daughter), Smiling Finn (his somewhat reluctant son) and Danny Boy. Excellent. Roll on series 2!

My 2 year old son loves this show. And I I've that it's not full of annoying like so many other cartoons. Also it's educational and many of the things on the show are based on real life things which is awesome. It's even made me do research on several things. Looking forward to more from this show.

My son lovessss this show so much he's 6 so ive watched all of them so many times I know it by heart its something different that I even myself enjoyed and loved watching it sucks so bad to see this is it Netflix should really pick it up and make more we are so sad 😢😭😭😭 I was really wondering when the new ones where coming out plus he keeps asking so that os why I am here now so sad.....

I, too am a mother of a 13 year old that recently watched this cartoon : The Deep and I agree with everything she said in her review, that this cartoon was quality programming with no cursing, and very educational. I was so disappointed to find out as he was that there were no more seasons to come. I really wish that perhaps this cartoon had had more advertisement perhaps as my son is a huge animal planet and discovery channel fan and maybe just maybe this cartoon would still be on today. If there is any TV station that would be willing to perhaps make a reboot of this cartoon than maybe Netflix would consider doing so. Here's hoping!

We have watched every episode together all of us and it is as entertaining for us adults as it is for our 4 year old son and 6 year old daughter. Even our baby likes it :-) it is nice, exciting and adventurous. A family exploring the sea together.

Its one of the best made cartoons available anywhere, because u used current graphics and people insted of dorky looking ,weird shaped people, with graphics from 40 yrs ago. Its seems like other than the deep and a very few others technology, has went backwards. I've watched scooby do with better graphics and storylines, from 40-50 yrs ago, that's why I was happy to see a well made nice cartoon like this one . I wish u would at least do enough episodes to finish the story . I would like to know if they ever find lemuria and what happen and the things they go through to get there. Since I didnt really say b 4 , I am almost 46, and have plenty of people I know and their kids that would love this show to b finished. Thanks for the great cartoon , but if u would I would like to see it finished even if it's for Netflix or IMDb, whatever others. That is what a cartoon is supposed to look like , not the stupid shit they put on tv now. There were a couple of other shows a little older than urs , but they had good stories and great graphics, but the people that operate the cartoon channels show dumb shit, that looks like something made by , not to sound mean to the kids , but like 5 and 6 yr olds would draw or make. I love kids and I love cartoons , but almost everything now is either screwy like what I was talking about ,stupid or Lego. I am so sick of insted of being made like they should be ,like ur deep, they choose to make anything DC. Lego, stupid , insted of an actual cartoon they did great with the animated series' from the 90s and up to about 2009 or so. I dont see anything like that ,even if they were to reshow all of the old ones from that time ,none of the kids growing up now would have seen them and they all would love them just like we used to. My nephews quit watching for any good cartoons . They liked the teen titans ,but hated teen titans go. They liked the ultimate spiderman, and the newest onemarvels spider man, they like princess Sofia the 1st, and elena of Avalon, because of how they r made, even the new ducktales and monkeys roadster racers . They watch all of that but everything else ,that looks like teen titans go or worse they will not watch. It my nephews and their friends the cartoons they make today are not any good ,except for those few I named. Nothing DC cartoons have made and that's alot, ever get showed and every single one of them had better graphics and prolly sound better than what people make now. To round it all out kids love superheroes and none of the cartoon channels show them except for marvel, and that's only about 3 . There is no DC cartoons on anything, except that teen titans go. The boys used to watch the few Netflix had to offer when they visited me , but not Netflix doesn't have but a very few batman cartoons , none of superman , none of justice league anything. I'm sorry, to vent about all this ,but kids growing up have no idea who batman , superman , wonder womN the flash ,or the justice league because ,it seems DC is only interested in movies and tv shows , but they all started with being in comic books and then cartoons. I would like to see people make good time ,thought out decent cartoons . It should be easier now, than ever b 4, cause they can do it with computers. Anyways I sort of got off topic, sorry bout that. I just hate seeing good cartoons like urs not even get to finish the storyline ,b 4 someone quits or some old fat pulls the funding or whatever. That is 1 cartoon that should still be on every day more so than the crap they make and show for cartoons now. Thanks , hope u finish the story.

Why did u stop making this cartoon , its excellent. Everything is until it just stops at episode 13 in season 2. U didnt even finish the story line of them finding lemuria, it's a great cartoon and I know many of my friends and their kids that like and watched it more than once , but was upset cause it didnt finish?

I loved this, my kids loved this, we just reached the end of the first season... Do you know how difficult it is to find something that I can stand watching with a one year old and a four year old? Please don't make me watch Caillou or more nursery rhymes. The show (er... The Deep, not Caillou) is witty, educational with just the right mix of mythology in its science fiction... it's spectacular, and with the season one cliffhanger, my kid is really distressed that there doesn't seem to be anymore. It's based off a graphic novel... so do the books stop? There's gotta be more to it than this.

Please, please, for the love of whatever you consider holy... don't make me watch Caillou again. Please.

My family has watch this series four times. It is well made and provides possibilities of the mystery of the seas. The lessons on family support and humanistic approach to problem solving is very much needed.

Im 19 but still love this show and its amazing and entertaining so i really hope there will be a season 5. Im watching the 4th season now. And still love it. I also love that this show has a focus on taking care of the water and the animals who lives there but still has some action that makes it really intresting to watch. I really hope more people start watching this in my opinion because it's really well made done for a childrens show. Likee i said im 19 but still enjoy it that say something so again i really hope for a season 5 so i can enjoy more of this amazing show. Sorry for repeating some of my comments but its true.

For All Ages

I am definitely far above the target age of this show, but I absolutely loved it nonetheless. To put it simply, there is no other show quite like this one. Educational kids shows usually put me off by shoving the 'education' aspect into the middle of the storyline, yet this show does it flawlessly. All the while, it sends an excellent message about the importance of taking care of our planet.

The storyline itself has in incredibly compelling lore, and every season ended with a hook that left me longing for another episode. Each and every character was distinct, complex, and they continued to develop throughout the series. I particularly enjoying watching the shift in relationships and interactions between characters (especially fontaine and finn ✨).

This is one of few series that I have been able to enjoy despite moving past my younger years, and I sincerely hope they will renew it for a season 5 sometime this year!

The Deep Season 4 Review

Season 3 of The Deep was huge. It was all about the search for Lemuria, and had a multi-episode ending.

So I really expected the search for Will's missing parents to be even more epic, and possibly involve other dimensions and/or time travel.

In the first episode of the entire series, Will says, "I just wish my parents were still here to see this.", implying that they've been long dead.

But Season 4 ends up being a lot like season 2. Filled with regular episodes. We get episodes featuring the pirates of the Dark Orca, Dolos, Devil Daniels. We meet a new scientist friend. We see some new Monumentials. And we get clues that push the search for Will's parents throughout the season.

It's a great season that stays true to the previous seasons. But the ending does imply that if we are lucky enough to get a 5th season, that the search of season 5 could be on par with season 3.
