The film was entirely unscripted and the actors were given the freedom to perform as naturally as possible. Only the characters and a plot outline existed and provided a structure and goals for the story.
Shot in two weeks with an ultra-low budget of EUR 7.000. The finished film cost reportedly only EUR 57.000.
The two cinematographers operated the cameras themselves and had the freedom to shoot the film according to their own ideas and instincts.
The actors prepared their characters for over a year before the shoot started.
Director Adrian Sitaru established the rule to always shoot only one take to maintain a documentary-like authenticity.
