I hadn't seen this film for a decade and was so happy to stumble across it tonight. I just love the scenes of the Swedish countryside - I used to live in a partly Swedish-speaking area of Finland and well remember using bicycles to get from village to village or to isolated friends' houses just as the teens in this excellent short did.
I loved also the imagery in the film. The two lads bikes were chained together, they "took the plunge" at the end. And I remember the gnats and horseflies that are common to both countries; these little touches made things so real.
That the supposedly straight lad initiated contact at the drinks barrel was a nice touch. There was so much perfection in this ten-minute vignette. I'm sorry Ms Litén seems to have made so few films subsequently.
