Minor clip saved by its great song

One of the most colorful and happiest tunes of that great decade "General Public: Tenderness" didn't get much of a nice clip to follow its upbeat sound and important lyrics. All we got was a positive song performance by duo Roger Charlery and Dave Wakeling mixed with brief imagery of lovely happy children, possibly there to pause a reflect on us adults how we miss a lot while growing up, trying to make some connection and get/feel some tenderness, just like the lyrics points to us...about someone who can't deal a life without tenderness.

Gets a slightly enthusiastic thumbs up due to its powerful catchy melody, one that makes me smile whenever I hear the very first sounds. As for the sum of its parts, I just don't find it so much of a classic clip, there's few elements that count for it. Nice to watch though. 6/10

P.S.: There is a 2nd clip of this song, a more elaborated production filmed on a hotel and with Dave Wakeling playing a married guy who falls in love with another woman. More crowded, sexier and pretty much a view of the decade in terms of pop clips. Doesn't make much for the song but it's fun to watch, slightly better than the cute version. I believe the first clip is the one that got the page here since the 2nd video presents actors along with the General Public members.
