Generic but watchable thriller.
NickGagnon9425 March 2022
Basic slasher 'guess who do it' story revolving around a strip club. Sleezy as hell. And it has Todd Bridges. Nothing special but I have seen far worse than this.

So Bad (Possible Spoilers)
clknt1 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
From the opening credits, you could tell that someone got a drone for Christmas. There are nonstop aerial shots in this thing that are done with a drone, and they sure got their use out of it. The acting is terrible across the board, with the slight exception of Betsy Rue (why was she in this? She's above that). The guy from "Different Strokes" (Willis) is horrible, and the worst cop ever. He stammers and stumbles on his lines like he just woke up. And the main dude, the other bald guy...Jesus, can we NOT see his naked body again? Gross...fat, out of shape, and the most non sexy thing I've ever seen...but we get to see him in a couple of love scenes. Thanks, but no thanks. And the most non-threatening "tough" guy ever on screen. We snickered every time he tried to be tough. The strip club...let's talk about that. How is this place even supposed to operate with the clientele that it has? There are like, 5 customers in the place and it seems to only be open in daylight hours. And it serves milk. And the most out of shape, unattractive strippers ever to grace a pole. The effects...when people get shot, it's seriously cartoon effects. Nice. The writing...predictable, trite, amateurish and laughable. Kind of cringe-inducing and embarrassing. This was seriously one of the most predictable, cheaply made, terribly acted and horribly written films we've ever seen.

i was at the premier
suelou-7297831 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I took my friend with me to the premier of this movie recently and her comments keep getting deleted by, apparently, the makers of the film who are flagging her comments to be deleted by IMDb.

She's being bullied because they don't agree with her feelings about the movie. This is not a fan board, it is a discussion board for people's thoughts about the movie.

I will give mine as well.

I agree that this movie was not very good. It had potential in some ways to be a decent movie, but overall the acting and dialogue killed it. We both agreed that Betsy Rue was the best actor in the bunch, and some people were terribly underused. Robert Lasardo was promoted as being a headliner and he was barely in it, the same with Todd Bridges (though he was very poor in his role.) We did make some jokes about some of the cast being, shall we say, not camera friendly but that was forgivable in light of this being an independent movie. The one part we really did bust out laughing at was when a major character gets some news that causes him to faint. That part was so poorly acted that it was hysterical.

one of my main problems with the movie was that it was so inconsistent in tone and one major character was just all over the place in personality. One minute he's supposed to be a tough guy with a foul mouth and a major jerk attitude, then suddenly he's supposed to be this tender romantic guy with one of the female leads. Some of his dialogue with a backstory caused us to roll our eyes with a "here goes one of these kind of stories again" groan...heard it all before in better movies.

Another laughing point was with the Pleasure Dome strip club. Surely they could have gotten a few more extras to be in this to make it look at least halfway realistic. The patrons consisted of about 5 or so people.

I've seen far worse movies on NetFlix but that's really not saying a whole lot. This is just not a good movie in my opinion and I couldn't recommend it to anyone. We did like some of the camera-work except for the overused drone and some really obvious footage that was pulled from other sources, and a couple of the unknown actors were OK. But on the whole, it wasn't something we liked.

My eye ran into a door.
nogodnomasters11 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
In Nashville, Andy, a disgraced cop (Scott Tepperman) joins his old friend Nicky (Jim O'Rear) in operating an adult entertainment establishment called, "The Pleasure Dome." At this point, the strippers are being murdered one by one.

The production was low budget, the sound uneven, and the acting non-existent. They apparently used a body double for the killer because the killer's body didn't look anything like the person revealed at the end. Robert LaSardo plays a bad guy, no surprise there. The film opens with a killing, then goes "1 year earlier" and in short time gets back to that spot which seemed far shorter than a year.

Guide: F-word, sex, and nudity

This is a teaching movie
bjackson-739-45055217 June 2019
The IMDB rating shown here must be a geared towards a teaching movie. By that I mean that this movie teaches new up and coming movie makers what NOT to do when selecting the cast, acting ability, and dialogue writing. With only one exception, the entire cast appears to have been recruited from a weight watchers client list. Only the bouncer was normally proportioned for his height. We may never know if any of the cast had any acting ability because I've seen original high school plays that had better dialogue. I did find 2 things that very slightly helped this movie, an actual story line, and those holding the cameras had steady hands (no camera shake).

Great horror-crime-thriller!
garyvincent31 January 2017
I am a big fan of independent films. I was pleasantly surprised that NIGHTBLADE did not disappoint.

Set in Nashville, NIGHTBLADE is a story about a couple of friends who have drawn apart over the years but eventually came back together. As the girls from Nicky's club "The Pleasure Dome" start getting attacked by a knife-wielding psychopath a Miami VICE-type crime drama unfolds. The script is well written and well acted by all of the talented people who worked on this film.

Kudos to Los Bastardz Productions on an excellent film coming out of the gate. If NIGHTBLADE is any indication of the passion, caliber and direction of their future projects,, I look forward to seeing more films from this gifted independent studio. Definitely worth checking out!

NIGHTBLADE: A fast paced, exciting romp through a world of crime and murder!
ianmair911 February 2017
I had the opportunity to attend the Nashville premiere of NIGHTBLADE and I was really excited to see this movie on the big screen. From Jim O'Rear and Scott Tepperman, a fantastic film-making duo, NIGHTBLADE was a fun, thrilling ride that kept me intrigued from the opening frame to the closing credits!

The film opens with some stellar aerial photography of Nashville and really sets the tone for the film. We are quickly introduced to our main characters; Andy (Scott Tepperman) and Nicky (Jim O'Rear) who play a pair of childhood friends who went their separate ways as they grew up. Andy is a cop, whose family was killed, and Nicky is the owner of a strip-club called the Pleasure Dome. Some time later, the men are partners at the club and get in some trouble with money. When a series of murders takes place involving the women who work at the club, a series of events is set into motion that intertwines the stories of other various characters and delivers a very surprising twist at the end.

There is a great ensemble cast in the film: Old pro Todd Bridges (Diff'rent Strokes) is great as the grizzled detective on the case, the beautiful and very talent Betsy Rue (My Bloody Valentine) plays the lead heroine, who you really root for as the movie progresses and the awesome Robert LaSardo (Death Race) plays a thug who may or may not be involved in the murder conspiracy.

Jim O'Rear and Scott Tepperman both do great jobs in their roles, playing very flawed characters who are believable as friends who are torn apart as the movie progresses.

I was very impressed with the film and I hope to see many, many more productions by these men. It was a great time to check this film out on its premiere night.
