A good episode, very fast paced, fan service done well, bad acting

I really liked the episode because it didn't lag anywhere, on to the point. But the episode was too fast paced, shifting a lot between scenes, would have been better if we could have got to see the crew interact and be more natural, the reason why i like this show in the first place. This episode lacked that. The direction the show is taking is very interesting and i dig it. Hope its more humanly in the coming episodes. I felt the acting too to be kind of bad as it was very below-par. The cast is amazing but i guess we could blame the direction for this episode. The fights that ensued didn't seem realistic, as in, we could see that the people on screen waiting for cues rather than being natural at a circumstance like that, like it wasn't natural, the action too was slowly executed nevertheless it was entertaining.

Too Many Villains?!
Hitchcoc22 September 2020
This was fast paced and exciting. Life seems to be a paltry thing. The people running things seem to have some sort of agenda--mostly money. But the usual peons are willing to die for the cause. Every time a villain appears and is subdued, another one takes his or her place. There are about six in this episode. Anyway, there is a new one coming. A striking brunette who thinks she's going to be the next in the franchise. I suppose she is some sort of mastermind who can rise from the ashes of the hundreds who have already died.

Best one so far!

This was a great episode. Not sure why the bad reviews. I really enjoyed how the crew works together and overcomes everything thrown at them. One reviewer complained the fight scenes weren't real enough. If you pick apart shows like this then I can see why they didn't like it. Was a one great part where I wanted to cheer when the title was invoked. I can't say this is best I've seen but I am enjoying it and glad I found this series!

No Matter

Warning: Spoilers
Dark Matter looked like a very promising show with it's first seasons. It was not special, but it had a feel that made you hope for it to continue and grow. But that was last season.

This season is a mess. The story line is dreadful. The show went from an interesting show to a copy cat, cheap SYFY movie of the week. The entire prison story arc is sloppy and poorly written. The characters (except for three) feel hollow and empty and the writing has lost the "soul" of the first season.

I was hoping for something that expanded it's horizons the way that Farscape had done in the past - not something that would cater to the standard SYFY audience.

Too bad. I thought that maybe this and "The Expanse" would bring back intelligent, well written and original science fiction.

This episode was the most tragic..

...tragically acted. It's amazing how a change of director can make decent enough actors look very VERY average. I've followed this series from the very start. It has always been entertaining, and it doesn't take itself too seriously. This particular episode though had me laughing at how bad the acting suddenly seemed to be. I can't put my finger on it, the same cast I've grown to love over the last season delivering cheesy line after cheesy line. The lead female interrogator was particularly awful so I'm glad she got dead quickly. As for what actually happened in the episode, the plot thickens, it's great to get the old crew back together (-1) and out of prison. Looks like they've got 2 new crew members to add to the dysfunctional team. And who knows, maybe now that everyone knows their real names, they'll stop calling each other by number.
