First, apologies if this violates Den of Geek’s house style guidelines, but Lol. Lol at everyone who thought that Russell T Davies would return to Doctor Who as the avenging angel of ‘The Fans’, riding in and heroically retconning out all the plot points they had been complaining about for the last four years.
Davies has announced he has no plans to retcon Chris Chibnall’s controversial, canon-shaking Timeless Child plot twist, which revealed that the Doctor is no child of Gallifrey, but a foundling discovered at the mouth of a dimensional rift from universes unknown. Neither is he going to let that twist simply sit in the Doctor’s backstory, present but unacknowledged, alongside other inconvenient facts like the Moon being an egg, Earth’s forests spontaneously multiplying to help burn off solar flares, and the Doctor being best mates with Winston Churchill.
No, instead Davies has said...

Exclusive: Natasha Marc will reprise her role as Cherry in Season 3 of Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown. Marc made her last appearance in the ninth episode of Season 1 titled “The Lie of the Truth.”
Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
In Season 3, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. Back in the beginning, Davido used to dream of just wanting “to hear my song on the radio once or twice” — getting to the Grammys was barely a glimmer. But last night the Nigerian American superstar let Rolling Stone tag along as he rolled up to music’s biggest night for the first time, and with three nominations to his name.
“To have transcended to this is just amazing,” Davido said en route to the big show. “Just being nominated, just being recognized alone, is enough to make me proud of myself.

Was anyone clamoring for new characters in La Brea's final season when we only have six episodes to wrap up existing storylines for an already massive cast?
I wasn't, but in La Brea Season 3 Episode 2, we added two more characters, Ruth and Leyla. Ruth is the new leader since Paara (Tonantzin Carmelo) is no longer a series regular.
Leyla, her daughter, longed to be a fierce warrior and butted heads with Izzy, who also only wanted to be understood.
Tensions were high at the Fort since the Clearing survivors moved in, and things got worse when a murder occurred. Joseph, Paara's righthand man, was the only one who trusted them, and Ruth was the most suspicious, making Lucas fear for their home.
The two tribes were divided, and Sam only worsened things when he tried to escape, wanting to get to Riley. Sam was the ultimate Papa Bear and...

The job featured in The Night Agent seems pretty cushy for a federal agency: You just sit overnight in the basement of the White House, manning an emergency phone that never actually rings. But what happens when it does? For low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), it means his life becomes very complicated, very quickly as he’s thrust directly into the middle of a massive conspiracy at the highest levels of government.
Created by Shawn Ryan, the new thriller series is based on the novel by Matthew Quirk and has already been renewed for a second season. Find your footing in this dangerous plot by getting up to speed with the cast, which includes Hong Chau, Luciane Buchanan and more.

Tis the season to be scary and Screambox has got you covered with a trio of brand-spanking-new Christmas-themed horror movies that go perfectly with cookies and milk in front of a warm fire.

That’s not all! Just in time for Christmas break, Santastein will make the long winter’s nights anything but silent on Dec. 19.
Since Black Christmas, holiday films have been a refreshing sub-genre within horror. “We’re in the midst of a casting emergency. We’ve got to find a 7-foot-tall basketball player, and that’s tricky. A Serbian,” explains Jon Cryer as to why his phone keeps pinging during an interview. The actor, famous for 12 seasons of Two and a Half Men, was in a full-court press to get his new sitcom, Extended Family, running at full speed after a production pause due to the actors’ strike. Cryer plays affable Jim Kearney, amicably split from dynamo crisis manager Julia Mariano (Timeless star Abigail Spencer). They’re proud “pillars of divorce society,” as Spencer says. Their kids, 13-year-old Grace (Sofia Capanna) and 11-year-old Jimmy Jr. (Finn Sweeney), stay at the house, called “the nest,” while mom and dad take turns living with them. It’s a slam-dunk setup until Julia announces she’s marrying Trey Taylor (Scrubs vet Donald Faison), the wealthy owner of the NBA’s Boston Celtics.

In case you missed it earlier this week… Tis the season to be scary, as Bloody Disgusting announces the acquisition of three new holiday horror titles for the Screambox streaming service – Secret Santa, Night of the Missing, and Santastein will make the long winter’s nights anything but silent!
Since Black Christmas, holiday films have been a refreshing sub-genre within horror. These films offer a much-needed contrast to the “all is well” narrative that is so often depicted in seasonal films. The angst and anxiety of holiday horror offer a cathartic release because for many the holidays are not perfect, and we don’t see ourselves in the yuletide rom-coms.
We’re thrilled to be releasing these films because they offer something for everyone; whether you want to laugh, scream or just have fun, you can find it on Screambox!

We have a trio of holiday horror films coming to Screambox but the very first to be unwrapped is Secret Santa, which hails from Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday director Adam Marcus!
You won’t have to wait long to dig into this wild and crazy horror film as it arrives on VOD and Screambox on November 7.
In the film…
“As friends and family gather near, to celebrate another holiday season, they have no idea a murderer lies in their midst. With drinks flowing, a distant and dysfunctional, affluent family is unaware that their yuletide libations are laced with a truth serum that will bring holy hell down on their holiday gathering. When secrets begin to spill, the tension starts to rise until it escalates into a murderous rampage that Krampus would be proud of. But through the bobbles and bloodshed, one among them is desperate to stop...

The late Lance Reddick and Annie Wersching were not forgotten in the Season 2 premiere of Freevee’s Bosch: Legacy. The show paid tribute to the two original series alums in the Bosch spinoff’s Season 2 opening with a title card dedication that read “In Loving Memory of Our Friends Annie Wersching and Lance Reddick.” Both died earlier this year.
Wersching portrayed Officer Julia Brasher as a series regular in Season 1 of Bosch and continued as a recurring guest star in seasons 2 and 7. She died of cancer in January at the age of 45. Also known for her work on 24 and Timeless, Wersching continued to shoot even after her 2020 cancer diagnosis, with prominent roles in Star Trek: Picard as the Borg queen in Season 2, and The Rookie. She also voiced Tess in the popular The Last of Us video game, which was adapted into a TV series by HBO.

At times it feels like if a news story breaks on Friday, Lifetime is there on Monday with an original movie at the ready. The speed of this brand that’s been around since 1984 isn’t just surprising to fans and reporters in the TV space.
“We surprise ourselves sometimes,” senior vice president of scripted programming Tia Maggini told TheWrap.
One of those surprising turnarounds happened around “Murdaugh Murders: The Movie,” a two-part project that makes history on Saturday for being the 500th original movie to air on the network.
According to Maggini, the team at Lifetime had been following the story of the Murdaugh family murders from the beginning. Though the “crazy” story captured their attention, the team was hesitant to move forward “legally” until the had a more definite idea of who committed the murders. But once Alex Murdaugh was arrested, the team went to work “towards the top of this year.

In The Late Great, Primetimer staffers and contributors revisit shows that were cut short, but still cast a long shadow over the TV landscape.
The idea of time-travel isn’t new to entertainment — the concept’s been explored in different mediums, from books to movies and TV, since the late 19th century. And yet, despite how common the theme is and how many different variations of the same storyline exist, 2016’s Timeless still holds a special place in the annals of time-travel stories.

The Taylor Sheridan hit train is chugging along with a fully fueled engine over at Paramount+. Now that Yellowstone is in the showrunner’s rearview, Sheridan has a bevy of shows that the streamer has followed his attention to. This past summer premiered the Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman show, Special Ops: Lioness. His new western series, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, will join the immensely impressive output of projects that Sheridan has on his resume, which include 1923, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, as well as the upcoming series Land Man.

The legacy of Chris Chibnall’s reign as Doctor Who showrunner is a controversial one, and even now it’s unclear how history will judge it. Chibnall brought in a lot of important and necessary steps in the show’s evolution, including the first woman Doctor, the first non-white Doctor, the first non-white writer on the show, and a real attempt to bring back the educational aspect of the series for the first time in decades.

Taylor Swift learned quickly that being on top meant a rougher landing at the bottom. The year after she released sophomore album Fearless should have been joyful: The album helped begin her transition from country wunderkind to veritable pop star thanks to the five Top 10 hits it birthed. She would find herself as often the youngest or only country star amongst mainstream pop, rap, and rock heavyweights — incuding at the MTV VMAs where “You Belong With Me” took home Best Female Video. She would even take home her first Album...

Drop everything now and listen to Taylor Swift’s latest release, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), out via Apple Music and Spotify.
Originally released in 2010, Speak Now is arguably Swift’s most alternative album, complete with booming choruses and snarky, staccato pop punk guitar. Compare the plots and sound of “Better Than Revenge” to, say, Paramore’s “Misery Business,” and it’ll quickly make sense as to why Swift enlisted Hayley Williams to appear on the album’s re-recording.
Williams appears on a vault track called “Castles Crumbling,” while, in keeping with Speak Now’s alternative influences, Fall Out Boy contribute to the deep cut “Electric Touch.” The reissued LP also features the vault tracks “When Emma Falls in Love,” “I Can See You,” “Foolish One,” and “Timeless,” in addition to new recordings of the original 16-track album.
Notably, Swift also used the re-release to take back a now-controversial lyric from “Better Than Revenge.

Phil Breman, the head of live-action series development for Mattel, knows the primal power of a good toy.
Breman, a veteran of Disney, where he oversaw live-action scripted programming, and NBCUniversal, where he handled all creative and production elements on shows like “Kenan” and “Timeless”, is helping adapt Mattel properties like “Monster High” and “Hot Wheels” for new audiences.
