They Come From Behind
Hitchcoc26 March 2023
This is an interesting episode involving the death of Aldo, the retired priest/bartender we met in previous seasons. He is Booth's confessor and a guy who was in his unit. As things go along we find that the guy frequented drug dealers and was a heroin addict. Booth's action during the Iraq war make him think he, himself, is a killer. That Aldo is his responsibility. We see a dark side of the guys who gather together for support after returning from war. We have a secondary plot element with Aubrey whose father was a nasty dude who messed around in the financial world. So Aubrey is waiting for the guy to surface for revenge.

An unforeseen victim

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was really good! I had no idea that Aldo was going to be our victim. As they were putting the pieces together I was so sad that it was Aldo because I always thought that he was a chill character. It was sad to see Brennan and Booth so torn up about this.

The torture piece of this was super super nasty. Once they figured out it was the rats with the bucket torture technique I couldn't help but think of that scene in Game of Thrones where they actually show it. So so so nasty.

The bomb that Brennan and Booth was in was super intense and I'm not buying that they just walked away with some scrapes and bruises. I mean Booth was THROWN into the car and he just gets up and walks away? I don't believe it.

Overall I think this episode was solid. I think we are potentially lying the foundation for the final (or one of the final) big bad guys of the series.

Best part: Aubrey telling Jessica that he's totally committed to her

Worst part (besides the torture): did they bar owner say he closes at 5am?? Now I don't live in DC so what do I know but where I'm from bars don't close later than 2/2:30am - Bones Booth Pod, are there bars that actually close at 5am?
