Actor Jaideep Ahlawat, who is receiving a lot of acclaim for his work in the recently released streaming title ‘The Broken News 2’, shared that he has a WhatsApp group with fellow actors and longtime friends, Rajkummar Rao and Vijay Varma.
This WhatsApp group is called the ‘Majboot Actors Association’. The friendship between these actors dates back to their days as students at the Film and Television Institute of India (Ftii). The three of them graduated from Ftii in 2008.
While Vijay went down south to find work in the early phase of his career, Jaideep got his break with the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Khatta Meetha’ in 2010. Rajkummar Rao, too, got the cult-classic film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ in 2010.
Vijay made noise in 2016 with the film ‘Pink’ in which he starred in a negative role. Later, he starred in ‘Gully Boy’, and established himself as one of the most sought-after actors in Hindi cinema.

Vakeel Saab Re-Release: Will Pawan Kalyan Create Another Historic Opening? (Photo Credit – IMDb)
After Ghilli’s box office success from its re-release, another Telugu film is ready to release in theaters. It was in 2021, at the peak of Covid-19, that Pawan Kalyan‘s Vakeel Saab was released in the theater and was welcomed and loved by the audiences. Now, the film is ready to re-release on May 1.
The courtroom drama stars Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, and Pawan Kalyan. Directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film was an unofficial remake of the Bollywood film Pink.
However, Vakeel Saab had a much different screenplay than Pink, as it included a lot of conversations between the protagonist and the antagonist and some action scenes as well. This was the main reason that the film was never acknowledged as a remake of Pink.

When Doja Cat released Scarlet in October 2023, the album functioned as an introduction to the new Doja: the one who put her fans to the ultimate loyalty test and shifted her focus towards the ones who stood by her side. It was also the Doja who discarded her past releases Planet Her and Hot Pink as cash grabs that a foolish pop audience fell for. Still, the general public latched onto Scarlet singles “Paint the Town Red” and “Agora Hills” as though not much had changed at all. And on...

Patna Shukla is a brand-new legal drama set in the eastern state of Bihar. There are plenty of legal dramas that are not dramatized anymore and focus on the realism aspect. Sirk Ek Banda Kaafi Hai, Section 375, Jolly Llb, Mulk, and Pink are some examples of Hindi films from the last decade that have portrayed legal matters subtly, with no room for over-the-top theatrics. Patna Shukla is yet another addition to this genre and talks about a young woman’s fight against the marking system of the local university, which led to many revelations and possibly a scam. The movie is more story-driven, yet it has fascinating characters who learn from each other as the story progresses.

One of the many mood-setting songs on the "Barbie" soundtrack was "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and her brother/co-writer Finneas O'Connell. Tonight at the 96th Academy Awards, the duo and their tune took home the Oscar for Best Original Song as Miss Eilish made Oscar history.
This is Eilish and O'Connell's second Oscar win; they previously won Best Original Song in 2022 for "No Time To Die," the anthem from the eponymous James Bond movie. With these two almost back-to-back wins, the 22-year-old Eilish is now the youngest two-time Oscar winner in history. I'd bet good money this year's golden statue won't be the last she'll display on her shelf.
Eilish is the latest musical goth it-girl of the moment, following in the footsteps of her cited influences like Avril Lavigne. Her whispery singing can be sad and/or creepy depending on what lyrics she's letting out.

Between Valentine’s Day and the long Presidents Day weekend, February is the perfect month to scoot out to Palm Springs for some fun in the desert sun.
The Modernism Week festival, which this year runs Feb. 15-25, is the centerpiece of the month’s events. “Modernism Week is the largest gathering of midcentury modern architecture and design enthusiasts in the US,” says Lisa Vossler-Smith, its CEO.
Highlights of its 19th year include tours of The Shag House, which brings to life the midcentury-inspired drawings of artist Josh Agle, better known as Shag; Wexler ’54, a post-and-beam home that represents one of the first collaborations between master architects Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison; and the city’s famous Villa Sierra “That Pink Door” house located near where the movie Don’t Worry Darling filmed. (The four-bedroom, 5,300-square foot Villa Sierra can be booked for stays through Natural Retreats, with some dates available for around $1,770 a night.

Tender yet rageful, quiet yet deafening, intimate yet expansive, Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow is a towering achievement of total artistic freedom, the kind of work where certain images will be eternally burned into your mind and the feelings it exudes will linger far after the credits roll. Expanding the aura of loneliness from We’re All Going to the World’s Fair into a vastly more ambitious, layered canvas, Schoenbrun’s third feature tells the story of Owen, played early on by Ian Foreman and later by Justice Smith in a revelatory performance. Following the isolated journey of questioning his identity through childhood and adulthood, we witness his special infatuation with a late-night TV show and the ineradicable bond it creates with another lonely soul, Maddy (Brigette Lundy-Paine). The deeply expressive, imaginative ways in which Schoenbrun is able to articulate one’s struggle with identity is nothing short of staggering.

Photograph by Courtesy of Paramount Pictures With its Brat Pack cast and post-New Wave soundtrack, Pretty in Pink remains one of the quintessential teen movies of the 1980s. Even though he didn’t direct it, most people consider the film to be a John Hughes movie — after all, he did write the screenplay and was an executive producer. Because of that, he played a large part in the casting process, which worked out well for Andrew McCarthy, who landed one of the starring roles. Speaking on a Steel City Con panel, McCarthy told the story of how Hughes chose him for the movie based on the recommendation of Pretty in Pink’s female lead, Molly Ringwald. Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt couldn’t have guessed their first time scoring a film together would be the biggest movie of the year.
For the duo, working with A-list artists — such as Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Adele, Lorde and Bruno Mars — is nothing new. And Ronson had even previously scored a film before: 2015’s Mortdecai. But taking on Greta Gerwig’s Barbie? That was a different feat. As Wyatt explains, they’re the type of people to “dive in the pool and learn how to swim later” — and they’re definitely taking laps now.
Not only has the Margot Robbie-led film broken box office records, but Barbie: The Album was a chart-topping and Grammy-nominated hit, which Ronson finds “amazing and totally baffling.” With a lineup of songs including Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”, Ryan Gosling’s “I...

Competing against a field of seasoned athletes, Angad finished the race in 67 seconds. Earlier this year, he had clinched the silver in a tournament held in Mumbai.
Reflecting on his achievement, Angad said, “This win is dedicated to my father… He always said that keep your head down and let your actions speak. I have always been deeply inspired by his wisdom. The ‘Barbie’ Soundtrack Seems Like a Lock for Grammys and Oscars: But Which Songs, and Which Awards?
The “Barbie” film and soundtrack album are such an embarrassment of riches that an equally massive bounty of Grammy and Academy awards seems like a foregone conclusion. But such awards don’t just happen — it’s an intricate, laborious, precisely timed dance of official submissions, lobbying, advertising campaigns and (so we’ve heard) insider machinations less-than-lovingly known as “FYC,” i.e. For Your Consideration.
So, Atlantic Records, which released the Mark Ronson-helmed “Barbie the Album” soundtrack, and Warner Bros. pictures have a challenge on their hands: Which songs to push for which awards, and which categories?
Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” may be the most musically resonant song in the film and album, but it’s a melancholy one; conversely, Dua Lipa’s disco-fied “Dance the Night” is lighthearted fun personified and lights up the dance scenes, but it’s maybe not as emotionally resonant. Nicki Minaj...

Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” is already the second highest grossing film of the year as of this writing, and could very well top the list soon. On top of that, the film has sparked a ton of memes and cultural discussion around its themes of feminism and masculinity. The music of “Barbie” has been an integral part of its success, having been produced by Grammy and Oscar winner Mark Ronson. While the soundtrack has been dropping songs since late spring, now that the movie’s out the singles have exploded, with some even topping the Spotify charts in multiple countries. Now the collection might be poised for Grammy glory.

Pink is the new green: Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has crossed the $1 billion global box office revenue.
In doing so, Barbie becomes only the 53rd movie in movie history to have earned more than $1 billion at the global box office. It’s also the first film directed solely by a woman to join the billion-dollar club.
The live-action doll film had an explosive opening weekend, and we’re not just talking about the “Barbenheimer” double feature phenomenon. Barbie got off to a massive start by raking in $356.2 million its opening weekend. It didn’t slow up from there, as the film then bested records for non-holiday Monday and Tuesday box office earnings.
Not everyone was caught off guard by Barbie’s box office success. Its star/producer Margot Robbie was confident that the film would be lucrative, recalling in a recent interview with Collider that she told Warner Bros. it...

Los Angeles, July 30 (Ians) Popular music producer and singer Mark Ronson cut some “great songs” from the Margot Robbie-starrer ‘Barbie’ soundtrack.
The Oscar-winning music-maker was enlisted to produce the soundtrack to Greta Gerwig’s film about the iconic doll and it ended up featuring tracks including ‘Dance the Night’ by Dua Lipa, ‘Barbie World’ by Nicki Minaj and ‘Ice Spice’, as well as ‘What Was I Made For?’ by Billie Eilish – but Ronson has now revealed there were more songs he could have used but he didn’t feel they fit the tone of the film, reports aceshowbiz.com.

A week after Barbie smashed box office expectations, Lizzo has dropped the “Bad Day” version of her soundtrack cut “Pink.”
Lizzo’s “Pink,” the movie’s opening number, already featured on the Mark Ronson-curated soundtrack, but the rapper’s darker (albeit still bubbly) version popped up amid Margot Robbie’s existential crisis in the film. The one-minute reprise of sorts wasn’t included on The Barbie Album and was otherwise unavailable before hitting streaming services Saturday.
“Hey Barbie / Why so stressed? / Can it be those irrepressible thoughts of death?...

Lizzo is apparently campaigning to be cast in the next Lord of the Rings project. During a visit to Hobbiton in New Zealand, the singer performed the song “Concerning Hobbits” on the recorder while dressed as Orlando Bloom’s character Legolas.
“Lizzolas in her natural habitat,” Lizzo wrote alongside the video on Instagram. Katy Perry, who is married to Bloom, responded to the post. She tagged Bloom and noted that Lizzo is “comin fer yer jerb.”

Its all-female Supreme Court buys a lot of goodwill, but even so, it’s a tricky ask to get audiences to be comfortable with the relentless playfulness, artificiality, and earnestness of “Barbie.” The film’s tone isn’t quite everything (though it encompasses a lot), Greta Gerwig’s take on Mattel’s IP contains everything from a beach battle ballet to several quests for self-actualization to the ultimate trans-dimensional travel montage.
But as Gerwig and editor Nick Houy were constructing the footage and finding a way to settle the audience in the bonkers world of Barbie Land, they found a guiding hand: music.
It only makes sense that, given Barbie Land exists adjacent to the real world, it would have its own bespoke music playlist. Of course Barbie (Margot Robbie) has a soundtrack to her life. But Gerwig, Houy, and music editor Suzana Peric worked with composers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt,...

With artists like Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, and Ice Spice, the Mark Ronson produced Barbie movie soundtrack is poised to be almost as iconic as the movie itself. From danceable pop hits to more melancholic tunes and ballads, the soundtrack is full of songs for a variety of Barbies and Kens.
While Aqua’s classic song “Barbie Girl” unfortunately isn’t on the soundtrack, there are plenty of other bops that make Greta Gerwig’s Barbie Land come to life. Here are all of the songs you can expect to hear on the Barbie soundtrack, including a few words on some of the big standouts:
“Dance the Night” – Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa not only brings her pop disco sound to the first single on the Barbie soundtrack, she also stars in the movie as Mermaid Barbie. Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” is a fun disco...

Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” has officially arrived to turn the rest of the summer pink, just like Lizzo’s song that kicks off the film’s soundtrack. The “Barbie” album is available on vinyl, and it includes a collection of some of pop culture’s most-talked-about musical artists, perfect for the contemporary take on Mattel’s 63-year-old toy. Balanced with fun sugary bops and more existential ballads, the “Barbie” soundtrack compliments the fun and more serious themes behind the doll in the movie, directed and co-written by Greta Gerwig.”
One might think that Lady Gaga’s “Plastic Doll” or the Foo Fighters’ “Doll” or even Melanie Martinez’s “Dollhouse” would feature on the soundtrack to a film about plastic dolls, but Mark Ronson recruited quite a roster of talent to write new original songs for the movie. Barbie is finally in theaters, and along with it is Barbie: The Album, a dance-inducing soundtrack curated by Mark Ronson featuring songs from Lizzo, Charli Xcx, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Haim, Tame Impala, and more. Listen to the album below.
Greta Gerwig’s film opens with Lizzo’s “Pink,” which soundtracks the titular doll’s perfect life in Barbieland and serves as an ode to the color that experienced a shortage thanks to the movie’s production. From there, Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” a former Consequence Song of the Week, naturally coincides with a jubilant dance number where the film’s ensemble cast can really shine.
Other highlights from the Barbie soundtrack include Charli Xcx’s “Speed Drive,” Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?,” and, of course, Ryan Gosling’s ballad, “I’m Just Ken.” We wouldn’t want to spoil the movie with any more...

With colorful vinyl variants, Nicki Minaj singles, and record-store listening parties, the star-studded soundtrack Barbie the Album has become as much of a cultural phenomenon as the Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling-starring film itself. Produced by Mark Ronson, Barbie the Album shines on its own as a fun sonic reimagining of the Barbie storyline with a hint of nostalgia, featuring some of the biggest acts in music.
