Broadcast viewers had barely any original programming to watch on Sunday night, as the major networks aired reruns left, right and center.
ABC technically won the night, with a “Celebrity Family Feud” replay leading the way at a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.1 million total viewers. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” came second with a 0.5 and around 4.3 million viewers. CBS was the only network which didn’t air entirely reruns, with its coverage of the finale day of the Memorial golf tournament hitting the fairway at a 0.5 rating and 5.3 million total viewers. Spaniard Jon Rahm came away a worthy winner of the tournament, snatching a spot at the top of the world golf rankings in the process. “60 Minutes” was delayed slightly by the golf,...

A polite ovation of golf claps is in order as the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament, which won a quiet Sunday night in the ratings. The tournament, which aired on CBS, delivered a 0.5 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 5.25 million viewers. The numbers, as with all live events, will likely be adjusted in the final numbers later today.
The tournament, won by Jon Rahm to give him the world’s No. 1 ranking, was followed by the only other bit of original programming on the night, a fresh episode of 60 Minutes (0.3, 3.73M). It took a two-tenths hit from last week. CBS ended the night with repeats of Tough As Nails and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Reruns, repeats and encores populated the rest of the networks, with ABC winning the night averaging a 0.5 in the demo with second helpings of America’s Funniest Home Videos, Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck and Match Game.

The PGA Tour’s Memorial golf tournament strolled into primetime on the east coast last night, but the live competition was not enough for CBS to rise above ABC’s summer game show repeats. After months of negotiations, ABC has closed a deal to bring back the classic TV game show Supermarket Sweep with a new incarnation hosted and executive produced by Saturday Night Live alumna Leslie Jones.
Produced by Fremantle, the new Supermarket Sweep with Jones was taken out in August, attracting bids from multiple networks, both traditional broadcasters and streamers. ABC, home of the original Supermarket Sweep and an extensive slate of classic game show revivals, soon emerged as a frontrunner, kicking off lengthy dealmaking. Production on the 10-episode order is set to begin this spring.
Jones, a big Supermarket Sweep fan growing up, has been a driver behind the revival of the classic show, created by Al Howard.
“I’ve always dreamed of being on Supermarket Sweep,” she said. “Seriously, I tried out for the show years ago; and after getting turned away, I knew I’d have to take matters into my own hands.

A few years ago, after rough battles with the press and paparazzi and the cancellation of his MSNBC talk show, Alec Baldwin penned a much-publicized article announcing he’d be leaving “public life.” Baldwin seems to have reconsidered that departure and has been all over the media this last year. is currently appearing in two popular films, “BlacKkKlansman” and “Mission Impossible: Fallout.” On the television side he appeared in the limited series “The Looming Tower”, recreated his recurring role on the reboot of “Will and Grace”, hosted “Match Game” and will premiere this fall in “The Alec Baldwin Show,” an interview program on ABC.
Most notably Baldwin continued his appearances on “Saturday Night Live” lampooning Donald Trump. He recently received his 19th Emmy nomination for Best Comedy Supporting Actor. Baldwin won the award last year and has previously won two Best Comedy Actor twice for his role on “30 Rock.

CBS won another Thursday primetime — thanks to “Big Brother” — on a summer night marked by chaotic Nielsen numbers — courtesy of the NFL.
Last night, every broadcast network had at least one pre-emption for NFL preseason games in multiple markets throughout the evening, inflating the early data across the board. Because the numbers were more subject to change than usual, TheWrap has updated the early data with the more accurate fast-national ratings from Nielsen below. And, yes, “Big Brother” still scored a touchdown — just not by as much.
CBS was first in ratings with a 0.9 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 3.9 million, according to final numbers. In between repeats at 9 p.m., “Big Brother” scored a 1.4/6 and 5 million viewers.

Lowe is the host and a producer on the series, which comes from “American Ninja Warrior” and “Hell’s Kitchen” producers A. Smith & Co. The series is described as “the first-ever obstacle course… for the mind.”
“Mental Samurai” features contestants as they “battle the boundaries of their minds to answer questions accurately with speed and precision,” according to the official logline. “Not only does the course test their acumen in categories of knowledge, memory, numbers, and sequencing, but players will also have to contend with being transported around the set at high speeds in a specially designed capsule that is capable of rotating 360 degrees.”

CBS’ Big Brother continued its dominance in Thursday’s primetime, topping all others broadcast programming in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day ratings.

ABC had a full night of originals with The Gong Show, Match Game and Take Two all even with last week. Take Two was the only original at 10 Pm.

CBS’s Big Brother delivered season-best numbers in viewers and demos Thursday, sailing to No. 1 status on the night in the 18-49 age bracket, while finishing behind network’s The Big Bang Theory repeat in total viewers.
CBS’s 10 Pm Swat repeat won the hour in total viewers and finished first in the demo in a three-way tie with NBC’s Law & Order; Svu and ABC’s The Gong Show.
Gong was ABC’s smallest crowd-getter in primetime, following 9 Pm’s Match Game and 8 Pm’s Take Two.

NBC kicked off the night with Ellen’s Game of Games in repeats, scored best stats of the night, followed by the second-season debut of Trial & Error: Lady, Killer at 9 Pm.

“Trial & Error” returned for its second season on Thursday night down significantly from its first season debut last year in the overnight ratings.
The NBC comedy series drew a 0.6 rating 3.3 million viewers at 9 p.m. That is down over 50% in the demo and over 40% in total viewers from the Season 1 premiere. A second episode at 9:30 fared no better with a 0.5 and 2.7 million viewers. In fairness, Season 1 aired in the spring when more people are traditionally watching TV and also head the benefit of a “This Is Us” lead in. The premiere was also on par with what fellow summer comedy “Marlon” drew for NBC.
NBC aired repeats for the rest of primetime.
On CBS, “Big Brother” held steady.
“Take Two” slipped in the demo but was up in total viewers in its new timeslot on ABC. “Match Game” and “The Gong Show” were both down in total viewers.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Younger, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Originals and Nashville!
1 | Didn’t Big Brother dedicate a little too much time to Rachel’s weepy Crap App reaction, given the racist remarks that had earned her and Angela a scolding from producers? Also, can Chris Farley’s estate sue the “Yell Reviewer” who loves in a van down by the river for theft of intellectual property or something?

The Season 2 finale of “Marlon” held steady in the Thursday overnight ratings week-to-week but was down from the Season 1 finale last year.
The first new episode of “Marlon” airing at 9 p.m. drew a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers, even with its performance in that time slot last week. The season finale at 9:30 averaged a 0.6 and 2.4 million viewers. The Season 1 finale drew a 1.0 and 3.6 million viewers, meaning this season’s finale was down 40% in the demo and 33% in total viewers compared to last season. In fairness, Season 1 started airing later in August of last year whereas this season began in June when less people are traditionally watching TV.
Earlier on NBC, “Little Big Shots” dipped in both measures.
Both “The Gong Show” and “Match Game” were down slightly. “Take Two” ticked up in the demo.
“Big Brother” was up in the demo on CBS and was the top-rated show of the night.

Tom Bergeron (“Dancing with the Stars”) holds the record for the most Emmy nominations for Best Reality Host, with nine, but he might have some company soon. “Project Runway”’s Heidi Klum is expected to score her ninth nomination, per our combined odds.
Klum received three solo nominations from 2008-10. Since 2013, she and Tim Gunn have submitted themselves as a duo, resulting in a win that year, followed by four straight nominations.
See ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ could make Emmy history as first show to win host and reality-competition program
The year before Klum and Gunn’s victory, Bergeron prevailed, ending Jeff Probst’s (“Survivor”) four-year run in the process. Bergeron bagged nine straight nominations until he was dropped from the field last year. He is currently in ninth place in our odds. Bergeron’s disappearance from the category coincided with “Dancing with the Stars” being dumped from Best Reality-Competition Program last year as well.

And the channel, which is part of the MTV family, is so happy with the record ratings for the just-concluded tenth edition that it has confirmed the renewals of the reality competition for season 11. VH1 promises more fierce queens and killer lip syncs.

Bebe Zahara Benet has never played Snatch Game. Unlike every other competitor she's up against in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3, the original winner of the title of America's Next Drag Superstar managed to sashay away with her victory without ever having to bring a fierce and funny celebrity impersonation in Mama Ru's version of classic game show Match Game because the now-iconic challenge only became part of the series in season two.
