The Ferguson VHS-C camera used in the film is the same one Andrew used to make films as a kid. By the time it was used in this film it had faults which made it limiting how much it could be used, but added to the amateur storytelling.
Some of the scenes depicted are recreations lifted from the early films Andrew Dawe made as a kid, such as the plane flying on cotton, and using a sofa as a Helicopter cockpit whilst shaking the camera for effect.
An idea for a prequel would have involved a younger version of the filmmaker from this film as a youngster making his first film at home, he recruits a local actor to get involved who travels to the filmmakers house on the bus (Opening music from the film Straight Time would be the theme) Once the actor arrives at the house he's taken by surprise when the door opens and the filmmaker is a kid who has recruited him. A manic, comical sequence follows with the actor attempting to get motivation for his role but the kid is distracted working on something else (the scene would be sped up with the music 'Rhythm Futur' performed by Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France) Eventually the actor leaves out of frustration.
