What is wrong with Ross???

We are finally watching this great show, and in the last few episodes, Ross has been acting like a completely different person than usual. Yes, he's been moody in the past, but he and Demelza seemed to be getting along fine, then all of a sudden he's moody and irritable and distant. Did I miss something here??

What was with Ross?

OK most of it was fine, but the confrontation between the newly formed militia and the villagers? Painful to watch. Trite to say the least laced with PC. Hard to believe.

Last episode s3 - writing left turn

This final ep of s3 makes me concerned about watching s4 and s5. Agree with the other two reviewers above. It's like new writers came in and had never watched the show. Ross' character change is inexplicable. His discussion mid-show with Dimelza about what he should do was the opposite of what he has been for three seasons! By the way, their two children seemed to have disappeared. Also, thought the new guy was gaining his eyesight back but now he's going blind?? And his relentless pursuit of Dimelza is a weak point this season. These people seem to have a lot of time to stand on beaches and cliffs and stare out to the sea.
