Getting Hands Dirty
Hitchcoc14 July 2019
Kirkman has been pushed as far as he can stand. He is an honorable man who deals in issues, not personalities. He has ideals and goals that he feels must be met. He has two adversaries in tow right now. The Governor of Michigan and the head of the Joint Chiefs. Both are clearly in violation of the Constitution as they try to set themselves up as dictators, or at best in violation of the President's role as head of the military. There are some great scenes here. This show gets more and more intense.

Warning: Spoilers
The series continues as we see Kirkman rising above the fray and he is becoming a leader. When the governor of Michigan literally rebels and ignores the federalization of the Michigan national guard, Kirkman's able assistant brings him to Washington for a supposed meeting with the president, only to have the governor arrested when he lands at the airport. Ditto for that general who is looking for revolution only to have himself dismissed in this episode.

That milk-toast press secretary was actually quite funny before his quick exit. Again, Kirkman is on the mark by the person he chose as his successor.

Virginia Madsen is that cunning congresswoman from the opposite party who deals with the First Lady so that the deportation of the Honduran lady and family can go away.

Notice that the children, especially the troubled son, did not appear in the episode.

Just a few eps in and it's getting pretty heavy handed

Are there any left wing check boxes they've left off? Is the First Lady going to come out as transqueer lesbian? Is the new VP going to be an illegal alien from Mexico? Will the first SC Justice be sworn in while having an abortion? Will the President convert to Islam? Will the President strip all white people of the vote? Will the National Rebuilding require socialism replete with 100% taxation? Will Oprah be in the new cabinet?

BTW aren't there any ex presidents to help out? Why can't they make Obama a living God?

Effectively the last episode.

The premise for this show isn't very plausible, but a very entertaining "what if" that hooked me in at the start. The drama is fast paced, and our reluctant hero is perfect for the job. The political infighting in the first few episodes would be expected in real life. Although the series started out so well, it can only hold my interest as long as there's the unsolved mystery of who done it.

Well, if you watch this episode, you know the answer. They do not show a clue or hint in the story, but this episode tells you enough about the mentality/ agenda of the writers/producers that makes the conclusion of the show pretty obvious and one of those, "really? Come on!" kind of endings.
