- Alex Danvers: You've been weird ever since I told you.
- Kara Danvers: I don't mean to be.
- Alex Danvers: Kara, I know when you're sad, or when you're disappointed. I don't know what I would do if you were disappointed in me.
- Kara Danvers: I would never be disappointed in you, but you said you didn't want to talk about it anymore.
- Alex Danvers: Well, I do. If... if you're not okay with it...
- Kara Danvers: I'm SO okay with it! Sit down. Alex, come and talk with me.
- [Alex sits]
- Kara Danvers: I think I owe you an apology.
- Alex Danvers: For what?
- Kara Danvers: For not creating an environment where you felt that you could talk about this with me. All those years we spent together growing up, the endless nights talking and sharing, now I realize that they were all about me and my secret. There's never been room for you, and that's my fault. And I'm so sorry.
- Alex Danvers: You didn't do anything wrong.
- Kara Danvers: And I know... I know that this is not the same at all, but I do know how it feels to keep a part of yourself shut off, to keep it inside. And I know how lonely that can make you feel. But Alex, you are not alone.
- Alex Danvers: I can't do this without you.
- Kara Danvers: You don't have to. So what about Maggie? What's she like?
- Alex Danvers: I... I just like her so much. You know, she's smart and she's tough and she's just beautiful. She's so beautiful.
- Kara Danvers: So are you.
- [the Danvers sisters hug, Alex gets a message on her phone]
- Alex Danvers: D.E.O.'s reporting an alien attacking civilians in an alleyway downtown.
- Kara Danvers: I'll go get the alien. You get the girl.
- Winn Schott: So what, are you out of your mind? Like, what's going on?
- James Olsen: Are you? Kara almost died, Winn!
- Winn Schott: You think that I don't know that? I- get out of here.
- James Olsen: Look, I'm sorry, okay? I know I don't hold the copyright on caring for Kara, but we're out of time man! I need this suit now!
- Winn Schott: When it's ready, I will let you know.
- James Olsen: NO! Now! Winn.
- Winn Schott: Are you serious? No, no. I'm not taking orders from you.
- James Olsen: I'm...
- Winn Schott: Dude, I'm not your assistant, I'm not the IT guy. I'm the guy who knows what he's talking about!
- James Olsen: I know.
- Winn Schott: In fact, I'm better at this kind of stuff than anyone else you'll ever meet! And until I finish making it all fancy, it's just gonna be a glorified Halloween costume. So when I tell you the suit is not ready, that means if you go out there right now, you're gonna die. You will die. And then what? You- you're not gonna be helping anyone.
- James Olsen: I better suit-up.
- Winn Schott: Hey, before you open it, I need you to make sure you are sure, alright? This will be the end of James Olsen. Full stop. You do this, you are someone else. There's a cost. Are you sure?
- James Olsen: I have been ready to do this since the day I found out the truth about Clark Kent. This is who I am. I can't hide behind my camera anymore. If there's a cost, I'll pay it.
- Winn Schott: That's a pretty good answer.
- Kara Danvers: [Alex wallows in her apartment] Alex, I can see you in there. Let me in, please.
- Alex Danvers: Go away, Kara.
- Kara Danvers: [flying in through the window] What's going on?
- Alex Danvers: Nothing. Nothing is going on. You shouldn't have come over here.
- Kara Danvers: Well, you didn't... you didn't show up for work, and that's not like you, so I got worried.
- Alex Danvers: You're right. I should, uh... I should go in.
- Kara Danvers: Wait, wait. Something is clearly wrong.
- Alex Danvers: Everything is fine.
- Kara Danvers: Is this about you coming out?
- Alex Danvers: No. And just... forget I said anything about it, okay? Forget it.
- Kara Danvers: Why? Wha... what does that mean?
- Alex Danvers: It means that I made a mistake, okay? I was wrong, and I shouldn't have said anything. I should have just kept my mouth shut.
- Kara Danvers: What happened?
- Alex Danvers: [about Maggie] She doesn't like me, like that.
- Kara Danvers: [hugging her as Alex breaks down crying] Come here.
- Alex Danvers: I feel so humiliated.
- Kara Danvers: No. No. I'm proud of you.
- Maggie Sawyer: How are you doing with all that?
- [referring to Alex coming out]
- Alex Danvers: I just... I don't know what to do now. I mean, I'm almost 30, and I feel like a kid again.
- Maggie Sawyer: Well, everyone's experience is different. I can only tell you what I did.
- Alex Danvers: Which was what?
- Maggie Sawyer: I came out to my family.
- Alex Danvers: How did they take it?
- Maggie Sawyer: Well, um, my dad isn't exactly known for his open-mindedness, but he was pretty good. And so was my mum.
- Alex Danvers: Maybe it's just a phase? You know, maybe it isn't real?
- Maggie Sawyer: No, it's real. You're real, and you deserve to have a real, full, happy life. Okay? Tell your family. This is the biggest thing that's ever happened to you, and you shouldn't have to do it alone.
- Alex Danvers: I have you.
- Maggie Sawyer: Yeah, you do. And I'm good for a drink when you come out.
- Alex Danvers: You promise?
- Maggie Sawyer: Cross my heart.
- Winn Schott: So, after this SOS went out, nobody has been able to get in touch with them. The government put the whole place under quarrantine until the DEO could investigate.
- J'onn J'onzz: All right. Supergirl and I will fly up there...
- [seeing Kara asleep face-down on the tabletop]
- J'onn J'onzz: [sighs] Alex and I will take the jet. Let's go.
- Winn Schott: Is she drunk?
- Kara Danvers: [over her shoulder] Mon-El took me to happy hour.
- Winn Schott: Of course he did.
- Kara Danvers: [spinning around on chair] He knows how to drink drinks.
- Winn Schott: Of course he does.
- J'onn J'onzz: Come on, let's move it along.
- Mon-El: [struck pillar] Okay...
- [groans]
- Mon-El: Is this because I got you drunk?
- Supergirl: [from up high] Let's never discuss that again.
- [lands]
- Supergirl: You need a break?
- Mon-El: [sniffs] Okay, I accept your surrender.
- Supergirl: Ha-ha. This... this is serious. You have to learn how to defend yourself.
- Mon-El: [grinning] How often do you plan on attacking me?
- Supergirl: I'm training you! So that, one day, if you are so inclined, you can make a difference.
- Mon-El: And what if that's not me?
- Supergirl: Sure it is.
- J'onn J'onzz: So, it finds a host, feeds off whatever energy the host comes into contact with, turning them into those husks we found.
- Supergirl: [stutters] It's more than just food. The second he touched me, he got more powerful. The more he absorbs, the more dangerous he is.
- Supergirl: Are you kidding me? This is how you're using your powers? As muscle for hire?
- Mon-El: It's a living.
- [she scoffs]
- Mon-El: A temporary living.
- Supergirl: You're supposed to help people. You cannot use your powers for money.
- Mon-El: [shrugs] Why? Don't you?
- Supergirl: Absolutely not!
- Mon-El: Well, that's a missed opportunity, 'cause...
- Supergirl: This goes against everything we stand for!
- Mon-El: Um, everything you stand for,
- [scoffs]
- Mon-El: okay? I never said I wanted to save the world. Things in this world cost money, and if I can make a few bucks using my powers, why shouldn't I?
- Supergirl: Okay, I... I...
- Mon-El: Why?
- Supergirl: No, don't. You are so selfish.
- Mon-El: Oh, okay...
- [walks away]
- Supergirl: I don't know what else I should have expected from a...
- [swallows her words]
- Mon-El: [stops in his tracks] From what? From a Daxamite?
- Supergirl: I didn't say that.
- Mon-El: No, but you were going to, Kara. Okay, and I may have your powers, but I don't have this... this innate desire to go leaping into trouble, but that doesn't make me a bad person, right?
- Supergirl: It kinda does.
- Mon-El: No, it doesn't.
- [stutters]
- Mon-El: You're no saint, Kara Zor-El.
- Supergirl: Excuse me?
- Mon-El: You fly around, rescuing people, like you're just... just pure of heart. But that is crap. Because you... you love the attention, you love people loving you. You are not selfless.
- Supergirl: [shakes her head] And you are no hero. I thought you could be, but I was wrong.
- Mon-El: Kara...
- [whoosh of air, she's flown off]
