This is a 3 part series on color (British spelling Colour) hosted by British physicist Helen Czerski. The first episode is the broad science and history of colors including specific ones; blue, gold, white, and red. The second episode is doing colors in the natural world. It tackles green first and its abundance in plants. It's a question that I've never considered and that's fascinating by itself. Next it considers skin colors, some perceptions of colors, the cuttlefish's chameleon ways, bees, and the luminous firefly. The third episode does a deep dive on the internet sensation of the black and blue dress. Then it goes into the stars and the history of the colors we don't see as well as modern technical use of color.

The second episode is the best. I always love nature shows. It does animals, plants, and insects while marrying some science. The third episode has the greatness that is the black and blue dress. I still remember the internet explosion. It could do a whole episode on human perception of colors. Why not explain the eye and the brain? The black and white photo is an eye opening. The first episode feels a little less compelling. Blue is great as she breaks up the Lapis lazuli. That gave me an idea. Sure, Helen is a physicist but it should be an episode about art. It could start with red and black cave paintings, and move into blue. They could still do gold but white is probably unnecessary. This show has some good information. Some of the subjects are left of field for me which is a good thing but it does feel random sometimes.
