Greatly executed episode, big improvement from the first episode of the season. First off, the direction in this episode I really enjoyed and is definitely some of the best the show has had which I'm really glad about since I wasn't a big fan of the first episode, the suspense was really great in the opening scene and was a fantastic really loved the cinematography as well. The acting in this episode was amazing, Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson especially shined in this episode, really loving the position those characters are in and makes for two really great performances as well as great performances by the supporting characters. This episode had some really amazing drama and dialogue as well which blended so well with the performances and the directing truly amazing work by Steven Knight. What else can I say without spoilers? To put it shortly this truly is an amazing episode which gives a really promising fifth season, excellent drama, excellent acting, excellent directing and writing, this really does get me excited for the rest of season five

This episode starts with an incredibly tense and well directed scene and continues at that level of quality throughout. The writing and production of this episode is superb and once again this episode carries over the technical prowess of the first episode while also maintaining the feeling of Peaky Blinders. The scene with Gold and his son in the woods is harrowing and heartbreaking, my jaw was on the floor the whole time. The final scene is a masterclass in tension. The sound design and cinematography put you on the edge of your seat until the credits roll and dare I say after. I'm still shaken and I love it. This is what I want from this show. 9.4/10

After a bittersweet opening episode this is just amazing. The actors, the directing, everything is excellent. The introduction of the Billy Boys seems really promesing. What an incredible show.

The act, Game of thrones, Handmaids tale, Chernobyl, Billions, Mindhunter, Stranger things, When they see us, The boys etc etc. I have watched lot if quality shows lately and I bet my money foe that headline. None of these series convince me more than what I just saw, this kind of intensivity in one episode is rare experience. Acting by Paul Andersson(Arthur) and Cillian Murphy(Tommy) are insanely good. And way how this is directed vere thrilling, captivating, authentic even, witch make it unforgettable. Those couple extrimely violent scenes with threathing atmosphere, full of violence or threat of Brutality was perfectly captured; Great examble to build up such an enjoyable Power play: I don't have seen such a powerful scenes very long time; quality those scene are as good - for example - as Breaking Bad. Umbelievable cinematography and slow but extrimely unpredictable plot. When the twist comes, it hit hard...

This season started off fairly slow with the first episode in my opinion but for me this was the best episode of Peaky Blinders to date. The acting from absolutely everyone was perfect and what a way to introduce the new antagonists. If you haven't watched this yet stop whatever your doing and watch this NOW!

Enjoyed this episode a lot more than 1. Plot developed, introduction of the Billy Boys and a few more great scenes.

My main issue is still the pacing and the camera work. Again, we're two episodes in and have only had five minutes screentime with Oswald Mosley and have just only been introduced to the Billy Boys. We haven't even seen Billy Fullerton yet and he's meant to play a major part too.

Definitely an improvement from episode one but I'm just worried that they're going to rush these storylines if they do end in season 5.

Season 5 so far has been amazing! It has a new style I would say, But its amazing. The music, scenes, acting, atmosphere and AMAZING visuals. is just on point! I have never seen a show with this level of quality! The work that goes in to each episode is amazing.

This was a fine enough episode with quite an emotional core. I think Season 5 has been a bit slow-moving, but I'm not that mad, because the show looks gorgeous and the acting is phenomenal. I think Tommy is definitely evolving as a character, and it's so interesting to see Arthur at his lowest point. Ada gets better with every season, I must say. I'm also happy to see Finn get more character development. Polly was very reasonable this episode, and I really enjoyed her outfit in this episode. Micheal is either going to evolve really well this season, or be incredibly annoying. I'm also very on-the-fence with Gina's character, but I will give her props that she has great style. However, the biggest gutpunch of the episode was Bonnie's death... He deserved so much better. I understand that this is the kind of show where anyone can die, but I feel Bonnie's death was totally out of left-field. Aberama's reaction is quite justified, even though... Hurting Johnny-Dogs is another level... I think Moseley is being set-up as the villain, and it's clear that Arthur and Tommy's relationships are highly strained. The beginning of this episode was also absolutely bad-ass! So... This was a slow-moving episode, but not bad.

Oswald Mosley was never a communist. He was a Labour MP up until 1930, then he broke away and formed the British Union of Fascists. And the Billy Boys were a protestant razor gang based in Glasgow, Scotland with ties to Mosley and his party. They are both real, historical organizations. Actually, Lizzie has been here since Season 1 episode 4. And Lizzie has emotionally put up with a lot from Tommy, and they have been married for years at this point. I find the self-righteous wives unbearable. It's not like Skyler and this was happening behind their backs, they ALL volunteered themselves into these situations and did next to nothing to achieve the status that has been given to them.

I've never been this dissapointed and shocked since I started watching TV-series

Season 1-4 were excellent, story was intelligent, all characters had authentic personalites with depth to them and the pacing felt natural. The first episode of Season 5 had me worried and this episode pretty much confirmed that this series has officially strayed from it's once beautiful and excellent narrative. So far, almost every single dialogue and major plot scene feels forced. It has been disgusting to watch after being used to quality standards of the previous seasons. The only things that haven't changed are the beautiful sceneries, cinematography and attention to detail but that still doesn't change the fact that the characters that you have learned to love are so out of touch right now. I can't even watch a scene and feel invested anymore. If the next episode keeps this up then I truly stand by the title of this review and will no longer watch or continue to support/endorse the producers behind this show. The score of this episode alone really does not do justice to the previous seasons.

Ladies

The ladies owned this episode, Lizzie for not taking any guff and Polly as always for just being a bad ass. Storyline is developing well, though it seems to be pulled in a lot of different directions. Great ending scene.

Worst episode so far

The dialogues are badly written, they make absolutely no sense, the characters often just end up shouting at each other for no real reason. Everyone is overly frustrated for no reason (except Abrama Gold), it looks like they haven't learned anything from the previous 4 seasons (the lesson is: we should trust Tommy because he is much smarter than us, and we solved bigger problems in the past by following Tommy's instructions and believing in the family unit). I also don't really understand why the family (especially the women) don't realise that Thomas alone is responsible for at least 90% of the company's success. Lizzie has never been so irritating. The Irish enemies are pretty random, they show up without any meaningful explanation, it feels like the writers ran out of ideas.
