The first time Tami goes diving to catch fish, she is shown underwater wearing flippers. However, when she climbs back aboard the yacht, she is barefoot.
When Tami feeds peanut butter to Richard, the size and consistency of the scoop changes.
The use of a sextant requires a clear horizon and visible navigable stars or the moon (or the sun during the day), a nautical almanac, Bowditch tables and considerable calculations. Plus a single sight, especially during the day using the sun, would only render a line of position, not a fix. Multiple LOP's advanced over several hours would be needed to establish a fix (actual position).
Tami references Bob Ross when poking fun at Richard. The story is set in 1983 and The Joy of Painting (1983) started the same year. Since Tami is said to have been had been traveling for years, it is not a likely reference for her to make.
It is possible that Tami could have seen Bob Ross during her travels, if she had visited the UK in early 1983; it began airing here, on BBC2, soon after it's US premiere.

When Tami is in the boat calling mayday and giving their last coordinates she never releases the mic button, yet you hear static.
Although the movie is based on a true story (as stated at the beginning) in the end credits there is a line which states "The persons and events in this motion picture are fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons or events is unintentional."
During their ill-fated cruise Tami and Richard observe the sun setting off their starboard bow, meaning they are sailing in a westerly direction. The route from Tahiti to San Diego however is towards north-east.
Just after a land bird arrives on deck and Richard said, "Babe, you've got to see this..." Tami looks to the stern where Richard is and land is clearly visible off the starboard side before they discuss how far they are from shore.
The movie is called 'Adrift' which implies that the boat is without motive power and/or is not being steered. However, it is being propelled by the remnants of a sail and Tami appears to be steering at times (towards and eventually reaching Hawaii).
At most, the boat could be said to be drifting with the currents, but it is certainty not 'adrift'.
