When Jim opens his fridge to get food for Strickler, there's a milk carton with a picture of a kid on it. Back in the day, they used to print pictures of missing children on the backs of milk cartons. In the book, Jim's dad kept a milk carton with a picture of his brother (Jim's uncle) on it.
When Jim, Strickler, and Barbara get to Troll Market, there is a troll holding a TV with static on it. In the book that the show is based on, trolls sell TVs and it's known that watching static is like a drug for trolls. They will stop and stare at the static for hours on end.
