Jared Bratt and Tanya Lee, like their characters, were born and raised in Montreal and Vancouver respectively.
The opening scene and monologue was inspired by the Youtube video,"Why Do Girls Hate Me?" by Elliot Rodger, of the 2014 Isla Vista killings.
The photography session scene was shot on a Holga pin hole lenses.
The poster for the short film, Streamer (2013) appears briefly in the scene where Jared gets a call from his mother (played by Jared's real mother). The reason for the poster is a convoluted one: originally the movie ended with Jared making a movie called "Streamer" based on his experience with the girl which turns out to be the 2013 short. For this reason, the filmmakers spent $30 to print a poster for this fake film. When this scene was cut, the filmmakers decided to use the poster anyways as they already spent the money and didn't want to waste a perfectly good poster.
This feature film is based on the 2013 short film version of the same title.
