Romantic epic

With its sweeping battle scenes and explosive relationships among ruling families of four kingdoms Jin, Bailan, Yan and Liang in ancient China, this reminds me of Game of Thrones. The love story of the main leads Chu Beijie (Wallace Chung) and Bai Pingting (Angelababy) is more tantalizing and satisfying so I like this better.

As with most Chinese dramas, this may drag at times, but the story, especially the ending, is worth your time. It took me a while to appreciate Angelababy's performance (she is too pretty to take seriously at first). Wallace Chung kept me going. What is it about him that just pulls viewers in?

Great Acting with Wonderful Plot Story

This Chinese drama has 62 episodes and can't believe it I was waiting for 2 episodes broadcast everyday in the original country, I can understand Chinese little bit so listening easy words is not a problem for me. This drama is excellent because the acting of the actors mainly Angela baby and Wallace Chung, those two only need to act with their eyes and we will understand of their emotions pretty well. Since this drama was taken from a novel so it was following the original plot even though there were some changes but it still acceptable because it's making the live action becomes more interesting. The director is not bad.

What I feel disappointed is only the fake scenery, the audiences really know that the actors were not in the original places they mainly were in a studio with a fake background which look so unreal and it seldom happened in cdrama actually which gives me quite a disappointment. The focus is suppose to be to the main couple but the dragging and boring plot continuing about the supporting characters/the villains took long scene time is barely acceptable.

The only soundtrack that I found good from this drama is the opening song by Henry Luo, the music fill in with flute giving perfect sense of ancient feeling.

It is a short-happy ending drama so those who haven't watched readying yourself to see it.

Poor,y written plot

Sooooooo slow

I wanted to give up watching this show so many timedles because it was sooo slow and boring. But felt so invested that I had to finish. Not a very good story line at all.

So boring...

30 episodes series but dragged to 62 with so boring content. It two talk, they talk, talk for ages. Lead character wants to stay away from political affairs, villains and known persons. So with her best friend's family she moves to different place without even changing any of their names. There, they do everything to become famous and the villagers want to appoint her as Chief of their village. Is this what a person who wants to hide do?

In Chinese dramas, by changing hair style and wearing clothes like a man, a woman becomes man!

The plot was intelligent with strong characters, however, the screenplay did not allow the full range of acting that was required to move this series from okay to epic. In addition, the fight scenes were poorly choreographed especially with those ridiculous flying kung-fu scenes.
