Spanish indie rock outfit Hinds have announced a new album, Viva Hinds, which is set to drop September 6th via Lucky Number. The band has also confirmed a North American tour and dropped the Beck-featuring single “Boom Boom Back.”
Viva Hinds serves as somewhat of a rebirth for the act, as songwriters Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote faced numerous Hinds-related struggles throughout the last few years. They split with their management, label, drummer, and bassist, succumbing to something of a creative rut as a result. Four years after their last release The Prettiest Curse, though, Cosials and Perrote are set to return with a brand new project that seeks to rejuvenate Hinds and, notably, houses the band’s first Spanish language songs.

Right from the get-go, Stranger Things captivated its audience entirely. Much like Vecna, the series has enchanted its fans, ensuring they return whenever they are in need of some spine-tingling entertainment. The sci-fi horror drama is nearing its conclusion, with the highly anticipated fifth and final season set to debut on Netflix next year.
Netflix’s Stranger Things
And if the reports are true, Stranger Things season 5 is bringing a renowned filmmaker out of “retirement” – Frank Darabont. If you didn’t already know, the man is responsible for helming one of the finest films in Hollywood, The Shawshank Redemption. Having him direct a few episodes of Stranger Things would be a move in the show’s favor. However, his fans don’t seem too excited about this alleged job.

ings of Power Season 1 was always going to end on an intriguing note. With so many fans of the film trilogy and book series tuning into the show, the writers had plenty of opportunity to hint at what might come without giving the game away.
But there was one avenue that should have been off-limits. And that's the one they chose.
Ian McKellen's Gandalf is the standard by which all future portrayals will be judged
You don't even have to like the Lord of the Rings trilogy to appreciate that Ian McKellen's version of Gandalf was pretty much perfect. That's why he received two Oscar nominations and won two Screen Actor's Guild Awards for his performance.
But perhaps more important than any award, or being a key member of a trilogy that grossed nearly $3 billion, is that avid fans of the series loved him. That's the true measure of McKellen's performance,...

Steve Carell is reuniting with Tina Fey and Universal Television.
The Office grad has closed a deal to co-star in Netflix’s The Four Seasons, the update of the 1981 Alan Alda feature film of the same name. The role reunites Carell with Tina Fey after the duo starred as a married couple in the 2010 movie Date Night.
Ordered straight-to-series in January after Netflix won the show following a bidding war after the conclusion of last year’s dual strikes, the adaptation was co-created by Fey and her fellow 30 Rock alums Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield.
Production on the series is slated to begin later this year. The original film, written and directed by Alda, revolves around three couples who take vacations together each season and explores the changes in the group dynamic when one of couples splits up and the man brings a much younger woman on subsequent trips. Netflix hit a jackpot with Stranger Things. Since the first season dropped on the streaming platform in 2016, the craze for the show has only increased in the subsequent years. Due to its popularity, fans are always on the lookout for little clues that might give any hint about the future of the show.
The fourth season of the show was a massive success. It was also one of the most satisfying since it provided a lot of answers to questions that had been stacked up in the previous seasons. Several theories have been floating around with the show racing towards its finish. However, there is one time travel theory, that will make history if it ends up being true.
Why does time travel seem probable on Stranger Things?

Once upon a time, a bunch of disgustingly wealthy entertainment executives got together with a dream — a dream that answers the question, "What if people consumed film and TV in short segments like a TikTok playlist, but on a brand new platform that no one is going to pay to use with a bananas ridiculous name?" The result was Quibi, a short-form streaming platform that went as quickly as it came, shutting down after only seven months of operation and hemorrhaging over a billion dollars from investors.
The downfall of Quibi rivals that of fellow colossal "good idea on paper but never gonna happen in execution" entertainment failure, MoviePass, but came with the depressing caveat that Quibi actually produced a huge chunk of *content* that was now at risk of being drop-kicked into the unstreamable void of tax write-off and nothingness unless other platforms stepped in to save them. Fortunately,...

I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Then again, nobody needs to have the foresight of Galadriel to have caught wind of the latest round of rumors and speculation running rampant among "The Lord of the Rings" fans in recent weeks. While the obsessive fandom waits for more movies to arrive down the line, we at least have Prime Video's "The Rings of Power" series to keep us occupied in the meantime. But no matter how far removed we are from a first season that attracted all sorts of discourse in late 2022, from theories about the mysterious Stranger's identity to the guessing game surrounding the reveal of the Dark Lord Sauron, that hasn't stopped many from attempting to read the pipeweed anyway and make their best guess about which major figures from author J.R.R. Tolkien's lore might appear next.

A behind the scenes photo shared by Netflix earlier this week previewed all the familiar faces who will be back for Season 5 – including David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder and Maya Hawke – but there’s one actor you didn’t see in there.
One of the new characters introduced in “Stranger Things 4” was Eduardo Franco’s Argyle, the stoner employee of Surfer Boy Pizza who ended up playing a pivotal role in the season’s California-set events. Like most characters on the show, audiences ended up falling in love with Argyle, but don’t expect to see the character return in “Stranger Things 5.”

Tina Fey has set another series at Netflix — and will star in it as well as co-creating and executive producing.
The streamer has ordered a series based on the 1981 movie The Four Seasons from Fey and fellow 30 Rock alumni Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield. Universal TV, where Fey’s Little Stranger company is based, is producing the comedy. Netflix won a bidding war for the series, which was a hot property following the end of writers and actors strikes in the fall.

Fool Me Once kicks 2024 off with a bang as it hits the charts around the globe, but as you may have figured out by now, the show won’t be returning for a second season.
In case you missed it, Fool Me Once is a new British drama series that features the talents of Michelle Keegan, Adeel Akhtar, and Richard Armitage. It’s about an ex-soldier who finds out that her husband, who is supposed to be dead, is very much alive as she spots him on a nanny cam.
As with all prior Harlan Coben shows on Netflix and a growing number of Netflix scripted dramas – Fool Me Once was designed and will remain a limited series. That means by the time the credits roll on episode eight, you’re all done. That shouldn’t come as a huge surprise given that the series...

Mark Harmon starred in a few notable projects beyond NCIS. Years before he was cast as Jethro Gibbs in the police procedural, Harmon starred in the cult classic comedy Summer School. But he initially wasn’t interested in doing the project, and urged for another star in mind to take his place.

I first caught Rob Price’s tense short Strangers at the London Film Festival back in October where it stood out to me amongst the other shorts playing through its distinctively unnerving atmosphere. It follows a lonely dog walker as she ventures through a vast, open field. There she encounters a man who starts up a seemingly innocent conversation but as their chat unfolds, there may be more to him than meets the eye. What I really connected with in Price’s short is the dread-filled ambience he creates both through the dynamic between his characters and the darkened, disturbed cinematography he employs to display it. It really is a great example of how to create tension through each aspect of a film’s production. Directors Notes is stoked to present the premiere of Strangers in conjunction with a deep dive with director Price on the journey of making his short,...

David Gordon Green's 2022 slasher film "Halloween Ends" is an unusual entry in the series in many ways. In it, the vicious masked serial killer Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney) has been living in a sewer and stays out of the film's central action for the bulk of its running time. "Ends," instead, focuses largely on a character named Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), a man who, two years ago, accidentally killed the young boy he was babysitting. Green envisioned Corey's hometown town of Haddonfield, Illinois as a bitter and wounded place, full of spiteful, hurt people who cannot heal from the murderous damage that Michael caused way back in 1978, as well as his return in 2018. Every citizen is bitter, angry, and paranoid. Corey is bullied and picked on, unable to outlive his mistake.
When Corey wanders into Michael's sewer (he was fleeing bullies), he finds Michael and a strange transference occurs.

Fans of “Stranger Things” can now get a close look at the process behind “The First Shadow,” the stage adaptation that’s soon hitting London’s West End.
In time for what Netflix calls “Stranger Things” Day — the date that Will Byers (Noah Schnapp in the TV series) went missing in Season 1 — the streamer released a video giving a preview into “Stranger Things: The First Shadow.” This comes after Netflix’s recent reveal of the first images from the play, which showed Henry Creel (Louis McCartney) standing off with Dr. Brenner (Patrick Vaill), Lonnie Byers (Chase Brown) holding Joyce Maldonado (Isabella Pappas) and more.
In the featurette, key creatives discuss how the “The First Shadow” came together and what it entails, including playwright Kate Trefry, who teases, “There are so many Easter eggs. It’s Easter morning.”

She was alone, hunted, and extremely powerful. Eleven would stop at nothing to help them find their friend.” As we saw in the first season of Stranger Things. The press release continues, “Stranger Things fans everywhere celebrate November 6 as ‘Stranger Things Day,’ a special day to share their love for the world of Stranger Things. Here at Netflix, we’re observing November 6 by looking back at the first four seasons, offering new teases on our social channels, unveiling limited edition merchandise online and in brick-and-mortar stores around the world and more!

Actors have aged out of their characters’ looks before, often to the point of distraction— especially on television — but those behind Stranger Things are hoping to avoid this. Thankfully, the show won’t utilize artificial intelligence to de-age their stars, as Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapps, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin will all be in their 20s when the fifth and final season of Stranger Things airs.
Instead, executive producer Shawn Levy said they would take a different approach for Stranger Things’ final season, even clarifying remarks he made previously on the topic. In fact, he isn’t worried at all about any issues with age. “I kind of was surprised that one sentence I said around this topic traveled so widely. The bottom line is, we know what we’re doing on this show. Our cast is brilliant. And these characters that the Duffers have created are so vivid.

Olivia Rodrigo has announced that she will release all four “secret” tracks from her latest album, Guts, as part of a Record Store Day exclusive vinyl via Jack White’s Third Man Records.
This will be the first time that every Guts bonus track — “Obsessed,” “Scared of My Guitar,” “Stranger,” and “Girl I’ve Always Been” — will be available on a single release. Previously, fans were only able to collect all four by picking up each limited edition vinyl variant at Rodrigo’s webstore: red, white, blue, and purple.
That the vinyl release comes via Third Man Records is no surprise. In late August, Rodrigo revealed that she turned to White, Kathleen Hanna, and St. Vincent as mentors while recording the album.
Plus, Rodrigo shared a photo of her with White backstage at Brooklyn Steel in her Instagram post announcing the vinyl release. Check that out below.

In his early videos, the musician Teezo Touchdown mostly appeared in his front yard, standing sort of mawkishly in a way that brings to mind Edward Scissorhands and sporting the now-signature metal nails that adorn his hair. There, he would perform snippets of mostly acoustic, minimal-sounding pop-punk ballads that possessed a bleeding earnestness, almost childlike in their sincerity. Songs like the treacly but heartfelt “Strong Friend,” which doubled as a kind of PSA for mental health awareness. For a long time on Instagram, the primary distribution mechanism for these video snippets,...

Grammy Award-winning artiste Olivia Rodrigo has released her second album ‘Guts’, featuring her two premium hits ‘Vampire’ and ‘Bad Idea Right?’ The album sees the 20-year old singer expanding on her artistry, and pushing new horizons as she defies conventional pop music norms and take a more experimental side, featuring synthesisers, electric guitars, sampling while giving the whole LP, a bit of a pop rock flavour as opposed to going pure pop, like she did on her debut album ‘Sour’.
While ‘Vampire’ reached No.1 on Billboard 100 and Spotify upon its release in June, ‘Bad Idea Right?’ on its release back in August, has so far already reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 100, in the US and UK.
To celebrate the arrival of ‘Guts’, Rodrigo is sharing a live performance video for the album-opening song “All-American B****”. The full track list for ‘Guts’ includes:
