Stan Cole identifies Leo Burt as his primary suspect based on Fitz saying the language suspected he was from Chicago. Leo Burt was in fact from Darby PA, a suburb of Philadelphia.
Opening scene indicates June 22, 1993. The victim's daughter is watching The Price is Right showing Bob Barker with gray hair. Bob didn't stop dying his hair until 2007, 14 years later.
The list of 'Variant Spellings' has already been written on the whiteboard prior to this scene, and remains unaltered by any character in this scene. It depicts words that vary from the North American spelling. Initially, we see the 'Y' in the word 'ANALYSE' is incorrectly underlined in red. Minutes later, we see the letter 'S' in the word 'ANALYSE' is now correctly underlined in red, after that particular variance is referenced by 'Ernie'.
At around 7:06, whilst being interviewed, a close-up shot of Ted Kaczynski's face clearly shows the netting of the fake beard he is wearing.
When Fitz and the investigative team are discussing the manifesto the whiteboard in the background purports to show words which have variant spellings. However the word 'fulfilment' with the 'l' underlined is actually incorrectly spelled as 'fulilment'.
