Beautiful piece of cinematography
zzipf16 February 2017
Wow, never have I witnessed such a masterpiece, never the less one with such a small budget and unknown director. There is nothing wrong with this movie. The pacing is fast enough to keep you on your feet but slow enough to build the tension. The acting is emotional and real. Some may say it sounds automatically generated but they don't understand that's the point. It is symbolic of the pigs struggle and hardships as they fight against Kek. Then there is Kek, the best villain in movie history. His role is so well written it puts the dark knight joker and start trek's khan to shame. The plot is so intriguing and the imagery is so well constructed, so simple yet so beautiful at the same time. This is the most underrated movie of the decade. If it came out on DVD I'd put it right in my shelf with Shaw shank redemption and the godfather part two. One of my all time favorites I highly recommend.

Best Movie Ever
johnloganstewart8 April 2017
This movie is the best movie ever made, and has the best special effects and action scenes in the entire world. Has an amazing story-line and is the best thing that has ever happened to movies on YouTube, especially with the very low budget and unknown director. The "bröther, may I have some öats" meme is very fitting for the genre and is a better tale than any movie that proceeds it... Can't wait for a sequel.

Haunting, Powerfully Resonant And Visually Stunning
pelluliper15 October 2018
This movie re-wrote film history in every way. No one cares what anyone thinks about this movie, because it transcends criticism. Every flaw in the movie is easily overcome by the many amazing things the movie has going for it. It is an extremely beautiful movie, and I doubt many of us will see anything like it again. I've seen it more times than I care to count, and I still become transfixed every time, with a feeling which is hard to describe. Joe Capo's fictional story of the pigs and Big Pete entwined with real life occurances was haunting and absolutely beautiful. He is an amazing director and writer that this movie would not have worked without him.

Possibly the most influential and culturally significant film of all time
filbertians2 December 2018
Before I watched it I was man, a man curious to discover content to waste away my time online. But I came upon this. The enlightenment, the epitome of god, succinct to god's eternal will. A movie with the best writing, the best effects, the best characters, the best acting and actors. The director is truly a genius in our time a man all other men should aspire to be. I used to be a christian before I watched this movie, but now I am a proud capozite. Brother, please watch the film and you will reach enlightenment like no other.

A wonderful Work Of Art
3tothe1tothe1tothe39 October 2022
I stumbled upon this film drunk and depressed one night, I had recent trouble in life that had gotten me down so bad. Not giving any details, but after watching this film I have been enlightened. This film is a great art piece made by Joe Cappo, that will leave you with hope, love, and live, it will make you see the good in people and- Okay I can't keep this up. It was a funny pig movie, a good one that is, I thought it was pretty cool. Joe Cappo had made a unique film with nothing but PNGs of pigs, landscapes, and objects, it doesn't take itself seriously but that's what you expect. It's a gag movie and that is most definitely needed in these dark and increasingly depressing times. 10/10.

Good film
a_kydd22 February 2019
I wholeheartedly enjoyed this film. I will not spoil too much but the story is really good, Joe Capo manages to fit in a ton of cool and witty characters and dialogue without overpopulating the film. there's also a lot of world-building what with there being a multiverse withholding an array of dimensions, the secret Order of the Dark Oats and some gnarly inter dimensional travel. The animation on the other hand is well, "unique" to say the least. It might seem like garbage (its literally just images occasionally moving around) to many but if you look at it from a certain point of view you really appreciate the humbleness of the whole thing which is actually one of the facets I really enjoy about this film and... you're not catching any of this are you? uhhhhh nvm lol. The visuals this move pertains really makes me think about films on a whole different viewpoint. Like, do we really need fancy graphics to make something great? Its like, is it so bad that its good? I don't really know lmao. I guess it just depends on what you want from a movie. I mean I don't really care about pretty 1080p high tech visuals, as long as it is enjoyable to watch I'm satisfied. But there probably really do be other folks who only come for the visual side of things (in that case you'll most likely hate this film). BTW I rate this 10/10 because lol this film is the best no other film is as good haha lmao lol. XDDDD kek.

A Cinematic Classic!
s-528222 May 2018
The Oats Movie is quite possibly the best movie I have ever seen, with likable and developed characters and an original plot that is written to perfection. The dialogue is funny at the right times, and manages to clearly and efficiently move the story along as well. There is suspense, drama, comedy, and action, as well as an array of well-placed tropes that fit the scenes and characters perfectly. My personal favorite character was Janitor Jenkins, but I also liked Big Pete as well. This movie is not for everyone- it takes a rich sense of humor to not have many of the jokes fly over your head. But I assure you that in the end, this movie is a hit, a hidden gem, and the beginning of a largely underrated trilogy (yes, there are two sequels that are equally as amazing and share the same magic and essence as the first; a staggering feat) that should be watched by all who value and seek the heart of moviemaking success.

an unquestinable masterpiece
ilgridsason8 May 2020
Joe Capo is truly a prodigy. His work is absolutely extraordinary yet criminally underrated. The Oats Movie is no exception.

I never expected how much it would change my life. I used to be miserable; I used to hate my life. Well, not anymore. This work of art, which I have thus far watched 69 times over, has now entirely consumed my consciousness. The characters regularly appear in my dreams, and the story has replaced most of my childhood memories. It is so overwhelming in its beauty, in fact, that I am no longer capable of enjoying any type of entertainment other than Joe Capo.

I have finally woken up. Will you?

I played this at mothers funeral.

The story line and artwork in this film is unprecedented. The soundtrack brought tears to my eyes and my mum even chuckled when Big Pete came to the spotlight. I am rating this film 10/10 because of the absolutely fantastic and futuristic effects. I really hope they make a physical copy so that my kids can grow up with something with true meaning.

Brilliant movie!
marcus-364485 October 2019
This movie might be one of the finest in cinematography history! From the stunning visual effects, to the ear sweet voice acting. A huge shame this movie never got the attention it earned, since it would've been award winning! Joe Capo is a very talented director and writer. The only problem I have with this movie, is the fact that I can only watch it for the first time once! 10/10

Heart warming story, best movie ever made.
discolovebiscuit30 November 2018
This movie is a mix of tragedy, comedy, and is a great-family movie. When i first started this movie i was automatically sent into the world of these relatable characters. The story is enriching, its heartwarming, and everytime i watch it a feeling of joy sweeps across me, as i remember the first time i watched this magnificent movie. Overall, this is the single greatest movie ever made. Soon i hope to review the sequel "Oats movie 2." Best director ever, along with a great animator and writer. I believe it won't be long until the director, Joe capo, gets hired by giant companies to make more amazing movies in hollywood.

Life Changing
thewhyguy6 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
My name is Wilson P Oat and I agree with everything portrayed by this glorious film It truly shows the horrors that a young pig has to face just to fetch himself a hooveful of oats. The character development is UNBELIEVABLY good. The villains are likable yet easy to hate. The heroes are clever and witty. I have one lingering question that has kept me up ever since this film first premiered in 2017. That question is did the older pig ever finish his soda? Why was this unanswered perhaps this was revealed in the Oat Movie 2 or 3. Overall, a life changing experience that I will surely view again in the near future.
