Great information about how to find more sustainable alternatives to everyday food.

The film Unbroken Ground, created in 2016 is an attention grabbing short film. The main focus of this documentary revolves around finding new ways to make the food industry sustainable. It was very interesting to watch it from the farmer/fishers point of view, considering I am just a consumer. This film opened my eyes to how inconsiderate I am about what food I eat. I have never thought twice about where my food is coming from or what pesticides were sprayed on it. In class we have talked a lot about sustainability, but this film provides great real life examples of how people are making a difference. We have also been talking a lot about the soil cycle and one farmer compared soil to gold because it is such a rich and important part of our world. This movie is aimed at persuading the viewers to shop local or to dig deeper into investigating where the food we eat is coming from. I 100% agree with the persuasion of the writers and I am now willing to change my eating habits for the sustainability of earth. The only thing I wished that was brought out in the film was the point of view from the consumer. They mention that it is more expensive for people to purchase organic food. I think if they would've brought in an outside person who eats organic food to preach about how it has helped their health and such it would've brought in a whole new aspect. It is easy to sit back and say that change is easy, but it really is not. I was left with one message at the end of this film engraved in my head. "Leave the land better than we found it," and that is not only a message of the film, but a message for life.
