Z Nation (and the 'other' Zombie show) are much better with on the road adventures with a tight cast, as opposed to multi-week/season set pieces against a Big Bad. with a sprawling cast. This episode juxtaposes the current day situation, 7 years in, against the events at the beginning of the outbreak, with action, humor, and even a touching plot with a would-be TV star who would have made it big if it weren't for the darn apocalypse.

Warning: Spoilers
Finally, a good episode of the show. I like the flashbacks as it is about time we learned about how the whole apocalypse began, but they actually did a good job casting and introducing us to the entire newsroom.
Heart breaking to see the anchor as a zombie on the roof, but I think we all saw that coming.
