If Anything Just Watch It For Hugh Dancy's Performance
beatslikesmovies30 April 2018
I rarely write reviews but Hugh Dancy's performance in this episode made my eyes bawl out with tears. A fantastic performance and phenonemal character development. It's surprising to say because I expected Aaron Paul to be much better in performance. I feel like Dancy overtops Aaron Paul which may be biased because I love the character of Cal and the audience is always left wondering if he will flip out or try his hardest to better himself. Trying to make this spoiler free, his scene with Michelle M. was just the best performance I've seen from an actor in a while. That is why I wrote this review. Overall the episode has good points such as Hawk convincing the people about their doubts of the movement. But I am struggling to see where the movement goes next or where Eddie's intentions lie. Are we going to see more of Eddie's visions or witness some magic? All we know is that the movement revealed the exploited lies, but it still feels unjustified and I wanted to see how people felt about this. If it weren't for Hugh Dancy I would just be like 'that's it?'

Blood Moon

Warning: Spoilers
Season 3 has been pretty high quality for this show. It was a little too uneventful a finale for me, but at least it did have a mildly surprising death.

This show just needs to drop all the alliance shifts moving forward. Cal, Eddie and Sarah on a united front against detractors would make for a fun Season 4, but I fear we'll repeat the same cycle of them fighting among each other again.

Nice setup for an exciting season 4, after a very slow season 3.

This was the best episode of the season, imo.

I really disliked the injection of agenda social issues awkwardly introduced this season (Hawk - *irrelevant!* and completely unnecessary, as there isn't already enough issues going on! Sellout by writers, and a shark jump.)

Look forward to the IRS conflict, the other camp of believers, Cal and his dark history being "dug up"?! ;) lol

I hope full, public closure about Cal/Steve will be made next season.

It's going to be a good ride!

Great season!

Love the "injection of agenda social issues" in this season. Totally relevant, as it shows the Meyerists are as human as the rest of us, struggling with and meeting difference among us-even if it makes some uncomfortable. Well done!

The Light has mercy... its Over - Finally!

As someone who binged the three seasons of this nonsense in like a week, well it really is predictable when NOTHING REAL EVER HAPPENS. Its like some soap opera where the characters backstab each other, then fall in love, then break up but unite against some common enemy, leave the faith, rejoin the faith, fall in love again, then out and become gay...

All of the seemingly 'catastrophic' things that could happen end up being neatly explained away, so that we can indulge these moronic characters in their next round of futility... Aaron Paul turns out to be the worst.. turning every scene into some impassioned plea for .. well only The Light knows what..

Its all very pathetic, and I'm so happy to be done with it!! I gave it the ultimate chance, and while I hoped and prayed there would be some sort of seminal moment, like Eddie Lane rising to heaven, or the world ending.. SOMETHING that could substantiate all the pretentious crap of the first 3 seasons... it just never came, and all they did was try and milk you for another boring season of this crap, and I am out!
