I Enjoy The Show, BUT...
willstreet197526 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen prior season episodes here and there but have watched all of the season 3 eps to date. The show's intro leads one to believe there are a ton of wrongfully convicted people behind bars, but in literally EVERY episode of S3 to-date (eps 1 thru 8), Chris and Fatima have sided with the jury. That's not really their fault, though; but, with a show called Reasonable Doubt, shouldn't the producers do a better job at vetting the cases in advance so that the hosts don't have to tell the loved ones of EVERY convict featured that, unfortunately, they can't get behind the reversal of the conviction and release of the inmate because they, too, believe they're guilty? Maybe the last 2 eps of the season will produce different outcomes, but I'm reasonably doubtful.

Please get a good detective/investigator for the "police" details
gail-8005617 August 2018
If ID TV is really seriously interested in helping families determine if their lived ones are innocent or guilty-- Chris Anderson is NOT the person to send for the job. He NEVER truly asks the "tough questions" nor the right questions. He's too argumentative any judgemental for the job. The show would be much more informative and conclusive without him as the detective/investigator.

Decent show
jldivelbiss21 September 2021
I will say this is a decent show despite the fact that you learn that most of these people are guilty of the crime that they've been already found guilty of. Although, I did learn just how often these families truly feel their loved ones are innocent despite hard evidence that says otherwise. It's sad honestly.

Great show, keeps you thinking

Honestly: I really love this show. I am intrigued when watching and intrigued about their final verdict. It has a slow pace, but I really like the build up. This is one of my favorite crime shows, it really sheds light on certain cases. I am hoping many more will follow: the whole show is really unique.

Nobody is innocent on this show
denay-443446 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What is the point of this show if I already know your not going to help the families. The hosts of the show have very bad acting skills. I seen one episode that the family seem to have very good leads. And most people agreed with them and they still found a way to not help. I will definitely be turning the channel when this show comes on. The show is pointless and predictable.

USUALLY Police "Get it Right"!
Erin5026617 December 2017
As an ID 'addict', I may be biased but 'Reasonable Doubt' is one of ID's better shows. Both Melissa and Chris are very professional, courteous, and seem totally unbiased. I'm curious to know how the producers are choosing these cases. As it seems the show is relying on communication from family and friends of convicted murderers, who obviously believe in their loved ones' innocence. However, everyone is capable of killing someone! No exceptions! Despite alleged errors in an investigation or a trial, people need to understand and accept that there is no human incapable of killing. Melissa and Chris show all sides of these cases and I don't understand how anyone can disagree with their findings. Good production!

Hey people, it's not that bad!
mrjshades21 September 2022
I've watched this show from the beginning and it's actually one of my favorites on ID. I've read thru the reviews and I can't believe how many negative ones there are! Chris and Fatima make it a point to tell people they are independent and thus may or may not agree with the courts findings. I don't see how that's giving false hope. I do think Chris goes in with an opinion of guilt or innocence already made, but that's a failing of a lot of police investigators. We hear the term "follow the evidence" a lot in these types of shows, which Chris & Fatima do, but they've already seen everything pertaining to the case and it's human nature to draw a conclusion from what you know. If ID wants it to be really impartial, then Chris & Fatima should go in blind as much as possible. But, we're talking about an hour show & that's unrealistic for them to start an investigation from scratch. I think the show is engaging, and draws people in about the case & the guilt/innocence of the accused. I like both Chris & Fatima and think they're perfect for the show. They balance each other out in their approach to investigating and drawing conclusions. They rarely back anyone's innocence and usually end up pretty much saying the person should be in prison for the crime they're accused of. I'd love to see some sort of follow up show about the cases they do decide to "get behind" of though as I've never read anything about if they've ever really helped anyone. At its most basic level, it is a show for entertainment purposes, but should deciding someone's guilt be used for entertainment? I don't know. I do know it's a fast paced, engaging show with 2 very professional, compassionate hosts that will make almost anyone question our judicial system.

Favorite TV Show

Keep up the great work! I enjoy every episode. It's such a good thing that you help families come to peace with themselves. Keep them coming! I love how the cast are down to earth and honest from the heart. You can tell the sincerity from them both. I love it! If there was one thing that I could change about the show would be NOTHING!

Biased
shubado8 February 2018
Of the episodes I've watched, they have left me with more questions than answers. Sometimes it's like they just want the people seeking justice to give up. For obvious questions they can't answer, they simply push the notion aside and stick with their preconceived ideas. More annoying is the way they tell them to just move on. Who does that? They're in it for the money and that's it!

The law 99.9% of the time gets it right....
kparkslpn28 July 2021
I don't understand why people are so mad that the cases are generally not chosen to try and overturn the conviction. Most of the time the case is well worked and the correct outcome is reached. It's a very rare case that it is a wrongful conviction. Keep in mind that while I am a staunch law and order person who believes in law enforcement I am also married to a man who was in prison (not for murder but it was still prison). I get the wishes of the family to have their loved ones found innocent and honestly when my husband was found guilty I was pissed but not because I thought it was wrong. I felt the punishment was wrong and I think a lot of these families feel the same. Nobody wants their loved ones in prison but when they screw up they have to pay the consequences. I love this show and from watching Chris on The First 48 I know he does his best and does all the legwork to cover all the bases. Some of these people make the comments that make themselves look worse than Chris and Fatima can overcome.

Beneath the surface episode
myrecords-8705612 March 2019
Now that I know how untruthful this show is I will no longer watch it. If you watch the episode " Beneath the surface" they bring in a recreationist to duplicate the accident claiming that the recreationist "knows nothing about the case" yet not even 30 seconds into his explanation of what he believes would happen in an accident like that he point blank says "what the accident report read" which clearly contradicts the fact that he does know about the case and not only knows about it but has studied the police report !! Is it really too much to ask that the producers of television shows not fudge the facts just to make for good television?? Isn't real life truth interesting enough? Now that I know its all BS I will no longer be watching these pre scripted outcomes! Come onnnnn!

Some people don't get it.
holchie28 September 2022
Chris and Fatima do not take sides. They review the leads the family or friends give them, and then determine if there is enough to get a retrial for the convict. If they don't find anything that will qualify to get the court to have a new trial, they say so. No one takes sides. And I have seen episodes, probably one-third of them, where they do assist the family or friends with a private investigator because they believe there is reason to believe there is evidence to merit a new trial. They are not there to get the person off, they are there to determine if a new trial could be had. Sometimes they seem very sorry that the 'new' evidence is not enough to submit back to the court.

I really enjoy this show, you get to see that investigators do not always get it right. There are clearly times when the system fails.

It's so interesting to see them go over the details of the original case, question witnesses and the accused person. I feel like they really get to the truth of the matter!

Patricia Rorrer deserves a new trial outside the Lehigh Valley
hwgral28 May 2017
You should do a show about Patricia Rorrer, there is surely reasonable doubt about her conviction! It was a horrible crime, and the people of Lehigh Valley wanted someone held accountable. So someone from out of the area became their target. Not saying she did not do it, but the police investigation was shameful, and the evidence for a conviction is not there.

Leaves me with questions
jen_mcmanus20 August 2021
I do enjoy this show but I recently watched an episode where they staged an event and then had a sketch artist sketch the person. They used three volunteers. It appears that they did the sketches immediately after the event. In normal crime situations they don't get the sketch the assailant immediately after the crime. The three people did a really good job but who wouldn't after five minutes, wait a day or two and see how they do. Updates on people they decide to help would be nice as well.

waste of time.

I will never watch again. The main "actors" have zero interest in proving a persons innocence.. they do nothing.

Need help reaching this show!
hansonch4 March 2021
Hi, I am trying to reach the show in regards to getting help for my loved one who is wrongfully convicted. My loved one was sentenced to life without parole at the age of 22 years and he has already served 24 years wrongfully incarcerated. This show gives us hope! It exposes the truth and shows us that we don't always get things right in our system and that's okay because we have the power to turn that around and correct those mistakes and change lives. We know God is up to big things with more and more talk being had around miscarriages of justice. Thank you for this wonderful show!

Episode of missing mom
megskops15 November 2020
I would honestly rather sign up for inmate pen pails and reach out to the innocent and travel to do better back research then what they promise these lonely unanswered families. I just watched an episode where this man Ronnie is in prison has a missing mother of his daughter emma, he remains in prison with no body no evidence but yet they show an ex jealous girlfriend randomly hit her up for drinks not even 12 hrs before shes admitted missing and even found bloody sheets in her home but never investigated her!!!????? But because melissa herself made a phone call to her sister after hanging out with this shanon(ex girlfriend) all night the boyfriend did it???? Hello have you people ever thought the ex gf put a gun to this chicks head said call your sister and tell her your at ronnies, parked her car there n then bam kills her? Im pretty sure thats reasonable doubt even the fact that the ex gf was never investigated even tho she was the last one to see her alive! Makes me sick you people continue to watch this bs and up their tv ratings and they get paid to do what for these people? Nothing but rehash a new realityforthesefamilys!???! Id do more investigating of my piggy bank.

observations on the show
zudotakika7 June 2017
i love this show; however, i have found a few observations that could make a difference in a few cases. for instance the former teacher who was convicted of murdering her husband, she passed a polygraph with no deception. the medication may have been a factor in her not responding to her attorney turning the charges on her son, plus she may have thought that she could not object to that line of questioning. it would also stand to reason that more research should have been done on the creatine in conjunction to the husband's health...just saying.

Changed my review from 5 to 10
brooklynnesulfridge-6163312 October 2022
I previously gave this show a negative review. I felt there were a couple cases involving convicted white men I thought absolutely could have been innocent. At the very least, they shouldn't have been convicted with such flimsy evidence.

I felt Chris and Fatima overlooked those cases but showed support and compassion toward the black men(who I think also could be innocent)and their families who were on the show. It bothered me because it seemed blatant.

After I left that review, I recall later reading more information about one of the cases involving one of the white men I thought was innocent. I wasn't so sure anymore. So, that made me think possibly Chris and Fatima know more than the show tells us and maybe they do have a good sense about who is lying or not. After all, it is their job to figure this stuff out.

I had sworn to never watch another season but caved with this latest season 8 and have watched 4-5 episodes. They have changed my thoughts on them because they have now offered help to a couple white men as well.

I simply like to correct things when I've possibly been wrong. So, I wanted to change my review.

Besides everything else I just mentioned, I think the show is great! I thoroughly enjoy it and I do think Chris and Fatima show genuine care for the families on this show. Others have mentioned how this show harms and exploits. I don't see it that way at all! If I were wrongly convicted and in prison, I'd gladly use this show to try to free myself. To bring some awareness to my case. Whatever it takes.

Not sure about Fatima
dianeteleskjones18 February 2020
Let's hope for Year 2020 Fatima Silva sounds ALOT less scripted. She's either trying to hard or she's reading from a Teleprompter because it sounds so not sincere. Otherwise the show is great.

Murder in a Bottle
patricia-haertlein5 August 2021
Overall, I enjoy this show for its efforts in trying to get to the bottom of cases that might have been mishandled. The particular case in reference is so irritating due to Miss Betty busybody poking her nose in where it doesn't belong. I feel for every family member that my or may not accept reality, but this goofball needs to sideline.
