Meh
elefantra27 April 2018
Honestly, with only eight episodes in its final season, New Girl can't afford to give us episodes that are just "meh". How many times have we not seen this happen in comedies gearing up towards the final finale? How I met your mother did the exact same thing with weird, boring and unengaging episodes just thrown in in season 9. Neither Lillypads nor the episode before (Tuesday meeting) will ever achieve the same status as earlier episodes - the ones which I will gladly go back and watch. When this season is released on Netflix, these are the episodes you'll not pay any attention to and just skip. That's not what the final season should be about. Now is the time to remind us why we started watching in the first place.

Funny, but lightweight

There are a lot of funny bits in this, including the over-the-top ending, but the conflict in the various plots just aren't that strong.

What's with Jess and this filler

Why are we getting filler episodes in the final season.

Don't just coast until you get to the finale. The writers should not have been paid for this episode.

And what the hell did they do to Jess? Sure she wasn't the best teacher but she wasn't useless, there's no way she would have messed up Ruth's chances like that.

Just doesn't make any sense.

I was worried at first but....

So I was skeptical about this final season for 2 reason: 1, the major life changes to basically every character and 2, I just finished watching all of Scrubs, and that final season was a disgrace. And with it being short and didn't want it to ruin its legacy for me the way Scrubs did. But I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised. The show has not lost any of its charm and I find myself still laughing hard and the ridiculousness of it all almost as much as season 1. Great job. I liked this episode.
