Cleo De Nile and Frankie Stein accidentally bump into each other in the hallway. One of Cleo's bandages gets wrapped around one of Frankie's neck bolts. Cleo tries to disentangle herself, and accidentally sends the neck bolt flying. It lands on an ancient statue and breaks it. The two girls are called to the office of the strict Headmistress Bloodgood (a headless horsewoman) for the first time, and fear her punishment. When Bloodgood asks for an explanation of the accident, Cleo narrates a false story which places the entire blame on Frankie. Frankie tries to protest, but finds herself congratulated by Bloodgood. The statue served as a prison for the long-missing teacher Irene Maiden, and Frankie set her free by breaking the statue. Frankie is happy to be receiving praise instead of punishment. Cleo tries to claim part of the credit, though Bloodgood is not listening to her claims.
