Tom Hanks Shines

Warning: Spoilers
This video cured my depression. The story follows Carly Rae Jepsen as she attempts to meet Tom Hanks. While on the way there Tom Hanks, gets swiped left by every girl who doesn't know how much of a catch here is. Although this doesn't phase Tom Hanks. Eventually they meet and have an epic dance scene. Arguably one of Tom Hanks best acting roles and makes you believe in the power of film-making. After I saw this video I watched it at least 10 times and would recommend to everyone.

I really didn't like it that much

Warning: Spoilers
This is the music video for "I Really Like You", the song by Canadian recording artist Carly Rae Jepsen, and this one runs for 3.5 minutes approximately and was released back in 2015, so it is almost half a decade old. The director is Peter Glanz and that is a bit of a curiosity as looking at his body of work, he is not exactly known as a prolific music video director. But the even more baffling thing here is most likely the inclusion of Oscar-winning actor Tom hanks and I really would not have expected him in a Jepsen music video. he is in it from start to finish. Walking around, giving fans a Forrest Gump table tennis impression, sitting in the car texting with Jepsen and eventually meeting her and dancing to her singing. Well, that was a bit strange and maybe even awkward to watch. But the worst part was probably when we saw him move his mouth to Jepsen's words. I think the chorus here is catchy, but that's it. The song offers nothing in depth lyrics-wise and also beyond the chorus, it is pretty forgettable. I have read people call this one of the best music video from 2015, others say it is a lighter Bittersweet Symphony. I strongly disagree with both and honestly, except a guy being followed in the streets by a camera, this has nothing to do with the The Verve classic. Fittingly, it also wasn't a big hit, the one we have here I am of course talking about. Not a failure either, mostly thanks to strong charts performances in Japan, but yeah far from a hit and that is a good thing because it really isn't particularly good. Watch it if you love Hanks. Liking him isn't enough because I do and I still thought this was weak. Only listening to the song without the video must be even worse. Not recommended.
