Earlier this year, Full Moon founder Charles Band announced that his company was launching a new production label called Pulp Noir, which will focus on “edgier, weirder, darker horror and dark fantasy films.” They also set up a Patreon account where fans can subscribe and show their support for the company while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the making of these films. The first movie in the Pulp Noir line, a female serial killer story called Quadrant, wrapped production a couple months ago, and now a trailer has been unveiled! You can check it out in the embed above. A release date for Quadrant has not yet been announced.
Directed by Band, Quadrant was written by C. Courtney Joyner and is described as being an unholy blend of steampunk terror and sci-fi slasher, with a female serial killer using the titular VR device to stalk her prey and channel the legacy of Jack the Ripper,...

A project that has been decades in the making, the most expensive film in the history of producer Charles Band‘s company Full Moon, the stop-motion epic The Primevals made its festival premiere last summer and was given a theatrical release through Alamo Drafthouse cinemas last month. A special edition Blu-ray release from Full Moon is forthcoming – but the Australian company Umbrella Entertainment has already started accepting pre-orders for their Blu-ray release of The Primevals, which has a release date of August 7th!

He spent around twenty years thinking of and working on this sci-fi fantasy film. After The Dead Hate the Living! and The Hills Run Red, Dave Parker was getting referred to as the next big thing in horror. Then in 2012 he made ColdWater which sat on the shelf for four years before being dumped on the streaming market as It Watches, killing his career momentum in the process. In the years since, he’s only directed one feature, Puppet Master: Doktor Death, and a pair of compilations, all for Full Moon. Last month, Charles Band’s company Full Moon announced that they’re launching a new production label called Pulp Noir, which will focus on “edgier, weirder, darker horror and dark fantasy films,” with a slate of ten films. (The plan being that all ten of those movies are going to be filmed by the end of this year.) Production has already wrapped on the first of the Pulp Noir movies, Quadrant… and after looking over the footage, Band has decided that Full Moon will be releasing black & white versions of all of the movies in the Pulp Noir line. In addition to that, they will also be available on VHS!
Band confirmed this plan on a short episode of his YouTube series Full Moon Universe, where he said, “We all decided here that what would be awesome, considering how really cool the footage is looking from our first Pulp Noir movie Quadrant,...

Top of the mornin’ to you on this St. Patrick’s Day! To celebrate, we here at Arrow in the Head decided to mark the occasion by going back over the Leprechaun movies and ranking them from worst to first. The Leprechaun Movies Ranked list can be seen below – check it out and let us know how you would rank the movies!
Leprechaun: Origins (2014)
This is appalling. Director Zach Lipovsky, writer Harris Wilkinson, and WWE Studios were given the chance to make a new Leprechaun movie, they cast a professional wrestler (Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl) as the title character, and then they just churned out a dull monster movie. I don’t know how anyone involved thought this was a good idea (“You know what we should do? Take everything people liked about Leprechaun and remove it!”) or how Leprechaun: Origins made it through production. The story follows Americans backpacking through...

Charles Band’s company Full Moon just keeps on trucking here in 2024, with the company announcing another brand new venture this week. It’s titled Full Moon’s Pulp Noir, a new label of movies that are said to be “darker” and “edgier” than recent Full Moon output.
Band detailed the upcoming slate in a video posted to YouTube this week, previewing “ten fantastic films that go just a bit farther over the line into the phantasmagorical abyss.”
He teases, “This year, Full Moon will be producing 10 feature films, shot in Italy and America, and we’re offering several exciting opportunities for you to be directly involved.”
“I’ve been thinking recently about how to create a new brand of movies. Movies that are still obviously deep in the sci-fi, fantasy, mainly horror sub-genre, and do it differently than what we’ve been doing with Full Moon. So I thought...

Full Moon Features is gearing up to go into production on their “crazy, candy-colored” comedy Barbenheimer, which was inspired by the portmanteau we all saw a thousand times last summer, as movie-goers headed out for double features of Barbie and Oppenheimer. Full Moon founder Charles Band took to social media to let us know that Barbenheimer will begin filming on April 8th, aiming for a summer 2024 release.
In this post, Band tagged his wife, actress Robin Sydney, genre icon Barbara Crampton, legendary drive-in movie critic and TV host Joe Bob Briggs, and Joe Bob’s “mail girl” Darcy, a.k.a. Diana Prince. We’ll have to wait and see if that means Sydney, Crampton, Joe Bob, and Prince are all going to appear in the movie.

Ok, I’ve thought about this long and hard, discussed with my local priest and therapist, and after much internal strife, I’ve decided it’s time. What you don’t hear a lot about, and good lord do they exist, are the multiple rip-offs of Gremlins. Gremlins got its own incredible sequel and then finally this year its very own animated show that is… fine… it’s fine. But with Gremlins profitability came the clones. The episode of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw covering Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys was Written by Cody Hamman, Edited by Paul Bookstaber, Narrated by Kier Gomes, Produced by John Fallon and Tyler Nichols, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Need a horror movie to watch on Christmas? There are plenty to choose from. The classic slashers Black Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night. The thrills of P2. The brutality of the French film Inside. The insanity of Gremlins. But how about a movie where the lives of millions of children hang in the balance? Where a demonic force wants to unleash tiny terrors on the world… and they can only be stopped by a group of tiny heroes. We’re talking about Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (watch it Here) – and if you haven’t added this one to your Christmas viewing rotation, it’s the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw.

A cursory glance at B-movie maven Charles Band’s filmography reveals a long-standing fascination with little creatures, permeating a great number of Full Moon Features’ productions. The diminutive monsters lend themselves well to Full Moon’s latest merchandising venture, blind box collectibles dubbed Tiny Terrors.
The first series features 10 classic Full Moon characters with odds between 1/24 and 1/8: Blade, Tunneler, Leech Woman, Torch, and Six Shooter from the Puppet Master franchise, Jack Attack and Baby Oopsie from Demonic Toys, Radu from Subspecies, Eebee from Evil Bong, and The Gingerdead Man. Blade and Eebee also have translucent chase variants.
Wrapped in foil packaging within a 4.75″ box, each vinyl figure stands between about 3″ and 4.5″ inches tall. Tunneler is the shortest, since he’s bent over in attack position — a fine concept, though in practice it’s more difficult to display than the rest — while Torch is the biggest, thanks to his helmet spear.

Since The Asylum doesn’t have something to release at the moment, Full Moon Pictures has graciously stepped up and given us Bad CGI Gator. Those plans include tossing their school laptops into the lake for a video they hope will go viral. Instead, it somehow transforms a tiny alligator into a huge, hungry beast. One wouldn’t think that a schlocky slasher series about killer puppets would produce more than a dozen films across three decades, let alone sequels that are still being discussed today, yet here we are getting deep in the weeds over the straight-to-video sequel bliss that is Puppet Master 4. Puppet Master is easily the most successful property to come out of Charles Band’s Full Moon Features, best known for movies like Castle Freak and Subspecies, as well as more low-hanging fruit like The Gingerdead Man and The Evil Bong series. Puppet Master falls comfortably between these two extremes. After a satisfying initial trilogy that chronicles the grandiose revenge scheme of a persecuted toymaker, Puppet Master–like many long-running horror series–is forced to ask, “What’s next?”
In Puppet Master’s case, the franchise strangely pivots towards the rehabilitation of Blade, Leech Woman, Six-Shooter, and the rest of these...

Back in August, the mad geniuses at Full Moon Features announced that they will be taking the portmanteau Barbenheimer – which we all saw a thousand times this summer, as movie-goers headed out for double features of Barbie and Oppenheimer – and turning it into a movie of its own. Now producer and Full Moon founder Charles Band has taken a moment to talk to both The Hollywood Reporter and People about Barbenheimer, describing it as a “crazy, candy-colored romp”.

Believe it or not, Barbenheimer is happening.
What started as a lighthearted promotional nickname for Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie and Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer, which released on the same day in July, will soon become a movie combining the stories of the two popular flicks.
Keep reading to find out more…
Characterized by its official tagline, “D-Cup, A-Bomb,” Barbenheimer will be made by producer Charles Band via Full Moon Features, People reported on Monday (November 6).
“With the world so divided and with so many genre films focusing on things that depress, with Barbenheimer, I just want to make a fun, cool, witty little weird movie that unites people with laughter and fun — that reminds us movies can simply be escapism,” Charles told the outlet.
“We’re making a crazy, candy-colored romp that riffs on two movies that literally have nothing in common and yet when placed together, make perfect — and perfectly strange — harmonious bedfellows,...

Back in July, we heard that Full Moon was moving ahead with a horror comedy called Bad CGI Gator, which was scheduled to start filming in Georgia in August. Proving that things move fast at Full Moon, the company has now released a trailer for Bad CGI Gator, which can be seen in the embed above – and along with the trailer release comes the announcement that the film is set to begin streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video and FullMoonfeatures.com on November 24th!
Directed by Danny Draven (Weedjies: Halloweed Night) from a script by Zalman Band, the son of producer and Full Moon founder Charles Band, Bad CGI Gator has the following synopsis: Six college grads on spring break get a cabin in the swamplands of Georgia. Once there, they decide to throw their school laptops in a backyard lake in an act of youthful defiance, which unknowingly turns...

Film industry cynics may take one look at a newly announced low-budget comedy called Barbenheimer and a poster that uses Barbie’s iconic pink font over a picture of a nuclear explosion and features the tagline “D-Cup, A-Bomb,” and immediately assume it’s simply a shameless attempt to cash in on a very recent cultural phenomenon. And those cynics would be absolutely correct, says Charles Band, the prolific B-movie icon who has been making low-budget horror comedies since the early 1970s.
“It’s 100 percent true,” he says. “But it’s also an opportunity to have fun with the bizarre coupling of these two movies and the combination of Barbie’s vibe and the darkness of Oppenheimer. You mix that together and you have such an opportunity for dark humor.”
Barbenheimer, selling at the American Film Market (where else?) with Amp, follows Dr. Bambi J Barbenheimer, a brilliant scientist doll living in Dolltopia,...

Plot: A woman plagued by nightmares of a demon tries to rid herself of these bad dreams with the help of a friend and a dream interpreter.
Review: Back in the early days of his company Full Moon, Charles Band produced and directed a film called Meridian, which was basically an erotic horror take on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. Band’s son Alex (you might know him from the hit songs he made with his band The Calling) has said that one of his earliest memories is of being on the set of one of his dad’s movies and seeing “a woman having sex with a giant rat”. That had to be Meridian… and there are more problematic elements to that film than just the idea that little Alex Band was running around on set and seeing things he shouldn’t have seen. Thirty-plus years later,...

Aimee: The Visitor opens with a title card telling us that Aimee was not portrayed by an actor or created with digital effects. She is, they claim, the first femme fatale created using AI. The timing is ironic considering the current strikes in Hollywood were, in part, the result of studios wanting to replace writers and performers with AI. However, if this is state of the art, they don’t need to worry just yet.
Scott Keyes is a hacker. You can tell because he has his computer set up in an abandoned loft and sits shirtless in front of his monitor so engrossed in the porn he’s watching he doesn’t notice he’s not alone.
Hunter and his sister Gazelle (Faith West; Maid Droid) have stopped by with some software for him.

Plot: When a computer hacker unlocks an advanced Artificial Intelligence program called AImee, this artificial femme fatale gradually takes over his life and sets out to destroy anyone who opposes her.
Review: Full Moon founder Charles Band has always had his eye out for the “next big thing” in entertainment and technology. He was one of the pioneers of the home video age, having started his own video distribution company in 1978. He cashed in on the brief 3-D resurgence in the early ‘80s. Full Moon’s 1993 film Arcade drew attention for the amount of CGI it featured. He started his own streaming service (FullMoonFeatures.com). So it’s no surprise that he happens to be the director of the movie that stars “the very first AI-created femme fatale in film history”. That would be AImee, the title character in the new Full Moon project AImee: The Visitor.

It’s taken a few more years than expected but 10/31 Part III has finally arrived and it wastes no time getting down to business with several faux trailers that range from old-school Eurosleaze, “The Slaughter”, to “Night of the Halloweenies” a parody of Night of the Demons, zombies lay siege to a radio station in “Radio Tower Road” and a pair of slashers “Candy Killer” and my favourite, the 70s grindhouse styled “A Stranger’s Treat”.
As with the original and the first sequel, 10/31 Part III begins with Jennifer Nangle appearing in her Malvolia persona and giving us an introduction to what we’re about to see.

Hello, dear readers! We’re back with a brand-new batch of horror and sci-fi home media releases that will be out this Tuesday. One of my favorite films of 2021, Lana Wachowski’s The Matrix Resurrections is being released on various formats this week, and two other great 2021 releases—Agnes and Silent—are headed to both Blu-ray and DVD as well. Dario Argento’s Phenomena is getting the 4K treatment courtesy of the fine fiends over at Synapse Films, and Full Moon is showing some love to a pair of cult films—Island of the Fishmen and Mansion of the Doomed—that fans will undoubtedly want to check out.
Other genre home media releases for March 8th include Monster From Green Hell: Special Edition, 13 Fanboy, The Legend of La Llorona, Video Psycho, Night of Doom, and the final season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Mystery Science Theater 3000’s Turkey Day isn’t just an annual marathon of classic episodes to sit back and watch on Thanksgiving. Depending on the timing, fans watch it hoping to see some kind of news. In this era when MST3K’s always in flux, viewers have their fingers crossed that we’re going to see some kind of look into the future of the franchise. Luckily, Turkey Day 2021 gave us plenty to sink our teeth into.
To get us back up to speed, after years of being off TV, a Kickstarter campaign started up in 2015 and successfully brought MST3K back for an eleventh season on Netflix for 2017. It ran for fourteen episodes and while the new cast needed some time to figure themselves out, it had plenty of high notes. Then things seemed to wither before it had a chance to soar.

It’s a wonder that “holiday horror” isn’t a recognised subgenre given there are so many films about vacationing families, friends or couples coming up against a plethora of maniacal/supernatural rivals, as in the recent likes of You Should Have Left, The Rental, Koko-di Koko-da, Death of Me and Get In.

Brandy Norwood, best known by the stage name Brandy, has signed on for one of the lead roles in the ABC drama pilot “Queens.”
The pilot is about four estranged and out-of-touch women in their 40s who reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had as the Nasty Bitches – their ’90s group that made them legends in the hip-hop world.
Brandy will play Naomi, better known as Xplicit Lyrics — the highly skilled musical engine of the Nasty Bitches. A true artist with boundless musical talent, Naomi was certain she’d go on to mainstream success after the group’s demise. She hasn’t, singing and playing her guitar in crappy dive bars where all people want is her old persona. When the group gets back together, Naomi is reunited with the only man she ever loved, and the rival bandmate who stole that man from her.

Hello again, dear readers! We’re back for another look at this week’s horror and sci-fi home media releases, and there are quite a few titles headed home tomorrow.
