Excellent!

I am a huge fan of this episode even though season 2 wasn't that good! Really great acting and a very interesting plot twist. It was very powerful and also not boring at all and I think that they did a very good job with this one. Hopefully, it continues to be that good.

Holy crap...

I once said that the show was slipping, and I would eventually stop watching the show unless it got better. These past few weeks have convinced me that the show is NOT slipping, they knew what they were doing.

This episode was everything I want from the show, suspense, heartbreak, thrilling sequences that makes you terrified for your favorite characters. Absolutely amazing. I honestly thought this was a season finale, but it's not, and I'm extremely happy about it since it ended with a humongous cliffhanger.

All I can say is that if you were worried about the show slipping, then you do not have to be worried any more. We're all in for a wild ride.

Warning: Spoilers
WOW! JUST WOW! This episode was everything I could possibly ask for! It had madness, confrontations, new mysteries and everything else that a good episode of a teenage show must have! I honestly knew it was Hal from the beginning and unlike too many people who changed their mind I still believed it was him and I'm so proud of the way they traveled everything! It was way better than season 1! Also I just hope they continue being this way because this is so amazing and dope!!!

Judgement Night (#2.21)

Warning: Spoilers
I have never, ever experienced anything like this episode before. It left me fired up and drained at the same time, emotionally exhausted from all of the murder attempts. I actually had to come down from an adrenaline rush. My dopamine was firing and I, honest to god, had a full-body crash after the episode ended. This was spectacular.

The ability of this show to pack so many tense, dramatic, action-filled moments, but still make each feel like they matter, is unparalleled. It's easy to breed chaos, to let a thousand plots run loose, but you know you've succeeded at writing a show when each of those many plots have a precedent, logic, and emotional stakes that make the viewer care. That's not an easy feat.

The Black Hood reveal was handled wonderfully, in a way that allowed Riverdale to steer clear of the teen drama tropes. There was no cliche "unmasking" moment, just an explanation that made perfect, jaw-dropping sense and altered the course of the show entirely. It also opened up a new mystery, with the identity of the second Black Hood still being unknown.

Also, on the topic of Jughead, because this review wouldn't be complete without it...

I find it hilarious that while the town was in shambles and everyone was rioting, Jughead still managed to put the pieces together and figure out that Hiram was responsible for all of this, that it wasn't happenstance. His brain is seriously something else. I think it also speaks to how Hiram was so threatened by him, that he accepted a deal to take out Jughead as opposed to an entire gang. I'm sure Jug will pull through and that he isn't dead, but I am in awe of the events that led to his self-sacrifice.

This was a superb episode, definitely one of the best of any teen drama I've ever seen.

I said that the last 3 episodes are gonna be good. But honestly didn't expect it to be this good. Now, I have very high expectations for the Finale I just hope they don't disappoint me.

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 21 was one of my favourite episodes of this season yet. I really wanted Betty to kill her dad or torture him, which would have been nice.

Is jughead deal or?

Too much scattered action and no focus
larssmidt3 February 2019
Season two has been a downhill slope and this episode does very little to make up for it. All the characters we want to love have been mixed up to introduce some suspension and just ended up introducing a lot of confusion and no focus. It tries to take on so many sub stories that none of them actually succeed. I really want to like this story as it started out great and with a lot of excitement, but at this point I am considering if the 3rd season is worth starting on.

It just all went a bit too silly

It's like what, you've come to kill folk with no weapons? But wait, how did you kill the one guy that's armed? Then you showed up to get killed? Why did you think that would make a blind bit of difference? Also, why hit him just once? Then so wait, him? You expect us to believe that? Then okay so you are killing him, why didn't you finish? Then wait, why do people keep showing up alone? I'm surprised this is episode got so highly rated because there were just so many things that didn't make sense - at all!!!
