After sitting through the less-than-satisfying Viking Wolf I wanted a lycanthropic film with a bit more bite to it. As it happened, I had the screener for the new film from writer/director Mark Cantu, Wolf Hollow waiting to be watched. Five minutes into it I’d already seen more gore than in the entire running time of A Norwegian Werewolf in High School as a drunken bonfire is invaded by a pack of werewolves.
A year later two things are happening. Evie and Bart Neuri are meeting with Mayor Schuzmarke about the absorption of Wolf Hollow by the adjacent town. An act caused in part by certain incidents on the Neuri’s property a year ago.
And in the hamlet of Wolf Hollow itself,...

Veteran low-budget show-on-video horror legend Todd Sheets sits back in his directors chair for Clownado, his new horror flick that he also wrote. Now, I’ve seen a bunch of Sheets films in the past, so I was excited to check this one out, his gory story of demonic clowns who embark upon a massacre with the use of… well, tornadoes of course. I mean, the sound of that alone was enough for me to double-shot my coffee cup, grab some snacks and sit in the dark with a big dumb grin on my face, ready to see Sheets in action again.

Bonehill Road
Stars: Eli DeGeer, Ana Rojas-Plumberg, Linnea Quigley, Millie Milan, Dilynn Fawn Harvey, Gary Kent, Douglas Epps | Written and Directed by Todd Sheets
Name: Bonehill Road
Age: 2018
Appearance: A low budget, gory horror directed by indie veteran Todd Sheets featuring practical effects, blood and guts. About a mother and daughter escaping an abusive relationship and falling prey to a cannibalistic sadist who kidnaps and tortures women. It’s a werewolf film.
Bonehill Road not Boner Road
So, where’s the werewolf?
Good question. They turn up at the beginning and at the end. Basically, mother and daughter Emily and Eden Stevens (played by Eli DeGeer and Ana Plumberg) escape a violent home and run into a werewolf, whereupon they escape and find themselves trapped by psychopath Coen Anders until the werewolves arrive at the end.
So, it’s a case of “where wolf?” Hahahaha!
Some people may feel short...

For the second week of October, I hope horror fans have their wallets ready, because there are a multitude of Blu-rays and DVDs that would be perfect editions to your home entertainment collections, especially with All Hallows' Eve being just right around the corner. The fine folks at Scream Factory are truly doing the dark lord’s work this Tuesday, as they've put together some incredible Collector’s Edition Blu-rays for both House on Haunted Hill (1999) and Michael Dougherty’s Trick ’r Treat.
As far as recent releases go, Hotel Artemis and Skyscraper arrive on various formats this Tuesday, and while they both may not be straight-up genre films, each of these films flew under the radar upon their theatrical releases, and I found them both to be a lot of fun and very much worth a watch, so I felt like including them here. Also, for all the kiddos out there,...

I’ve always maintained that despite vampires and zombies pretty much taking over popular culture over the last decade or so, werewolves have sadly fallen by the sideline. So thank God for director Todd Sheets, who is working to give lycanthropes the recognition they deserve with his upcoming film Bonehill Road, which just released a new […]
