Nathan is nervous about an upcoming late night talk show appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. He creates an anecdote to have a funny story with a big payoff to please the audience. He researches celebrity interviews on talk shows and finds similarities that consistently work.
He comes up with a fake story about going to a wedding and taking the wrong luggage at an airport. After getting to the hotel, he finds an oversized suit to be used as a visual for the audience. On his way to the wedding he gets pulled over with a bag of ashes.
Nathan invites himself to a wedding. He then finds someone large enough to use their suit. Since his mother isn't dead, he takes as much of her hair and nails as he can and cremates it for her ashes. He prepares the luggage switch and the cop pulling him over to make the story real.
I watched the interview online before I saw this episode and I had no idea this was a scheme. Nathan kills the appearance and now it makes me wonder if his other talk show interviews are set up the way this one is. He spent over $350,000 of the shows budget to pull this story off and it works beautifully.
