Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be one of the biggest Marvel movies ever and a new batch of stills (which appear to have originated from Empire) have today hit social media.
In them, we see more of Wade Wilson's birthday party, a battle in the snow, the Merc with the Mouth exploring - and possibly fighting in - the Tva, a new shot of the anti-hero and Logan, and Cassandra Nova in all her intimidating glory.
There's also a great behind-the-scenes photo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman suited up alongside director Shawn Levy.
The biggest reveal, however, comes our way in that shot of Deadpool and Mr. Paradox. Behind him, we see the Sacred Timeline branching uncontrollably, just like it did at the end of Loki season 1. However, at the end of season 2, it had taken on the shape of the tree-like Yggdrasil, suggesting Deadpool & Wolverine takes place before that.

The casting of The Crown’s Emma Corrin in Deadpool & Wolverine’s in a lead role has led to plenty of speculation as to whether they’re playing the film’s villain. Although some thought she’d be playing a variant version of Deadpool to give a twist on Lady Deadpool, others were adamant she’d bring Cassandra Nova to the party. Now, it looks like the latter has been confirmed.
As seen on the US Copyright Office site, Corrin’s character is listed as “Cassandra Nova,” seemingly confirming they’ll be playing the villainous twin sister of Charles Xavier. Introduced in 2001’s New X-Men #114, Cassandra Nova has similar telekinetic and telepathic powers to Charles Xavier. But instead of using them for good, she tried to eradicate the so-called “mutant menace” by dispatching an army of Sentinel robots to the mutant island of Genosha, massacring millions of mutants in the process.

This post contains spoilers for "Loki" season 2.
"Deadpool 3" — or rather, "Deadpool & Wolverine" — dropped its first trailer during Super Bowl Lviii and confirmed that Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) will be journeying deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Specifically, on the ground first tread by the Disney+ series "Loki," which wrapped its second season last year.
When Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox went through, the expectation (at least for most folks) was that the old "X-Men" films would be wiped away in a blank slate reboot. However, the MCU has since been pulling from those previously unconnected X-movies; clearly, Marvel Studios would prefer to bank on audience familiarity with Fox's X-Men. Patrick Stewart showed up in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" as Professor X and Kelsey Grammer cameoed as Beast in the post-credit scene of "The Marvels." Whether or not these were the original characters or unique...

The Cloverfield franchise may have been dormant for the past few years, but like the titular creature, it will rise again when you least expect it. That’s the fun of this sci-fi horror franchise, which first made its name as a viral hit in 2008 before expanding into a larger universe of stories involving aliens and alternate dimensions. You never know when a new installment might drop.
Such is the case with Cloverfield 4, which, as is tradition in this series, is shrouded in mystery. What we know for sure is that it’s being penned by British screenwriter Joe Barton and will be directed by Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow). Unlike the other sequels, 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox, which began life as completely unrelated standalone scripts before being rewritten and integrated into the Cloverfield franchise, Cloverfield 4 is being developed specifically for the franchise.

Over the last couple decades, director Mike Hurst has brought us several genre films – House of the Dead 2, Room 6, The Darkroom, Pumpkinhead 4: Blood Feud, Paradox – and his latest is a self-financed labor of love he has been working on for the last four years. It’s called Transmission, and it has been officially accepted into the Pigeon Shrine FrightFest festival that’s set to be held in London from August 24th through 28th. In anticipation of Transmission‘s FrightFest screening, we’ve gotten our hands on the trailer for the film, and you can check it out in the embed above!
Here’s how Hurst described the film: “Basically the whole movie takes place on a TV screen as we channel-surf late at night, slowly realizing that the different stories on the different channels are actually all connected, all parts of the same horrific story…” As the viewer flips through the channels,...

Kim Fupz Aakeson, writer of Liam Neeson feature Cold Pursuit, has created a quirky Norwegian comedy for HBO Europe. The premium broadcaster has commissioned eight-part series Utmark/Wilderness, which will be directed by Dagur Kári, director of Paul Dano’s The Good Heart.
Aakeson is also behind AMC’s David Schwimmer drama Feed The Beast, which was based on his Danish series Bankerot. It is produced by Finn Gjerdrum and Stein Kvae at Paradox.
Utmark/Wilderness is a quirky comedy drama set in a small Norwegian town a little north of the middle of nowhere. A sheep lies savaged. A dog runs free. A wife leaves her husband. So begins a chain of revenge that entangles a whole town. Corrupt sheriff, alcoholic shepherd, nature-loving bootlegger, God-hating pastor, grieving pimp…everyone knows everyone in this secluded corner of the Nordic North. Now an optimistic new school teacher rolls in, hopeful for a fresh start.

I've been eager to get a better look at the game after the initial announcement trailer and we now have a 4-minute gameplay trailer that gets me excited for a return to the "World of Darkness" next year.
Set in Seattle, where the blood trade is booming and vampires are dueling (in between eating human snacks), Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is slated for a release in early 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

After Louis Koo, Hong Kong A-list actor and producer, presented Anthony Wong with the best actor award at this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards, he smiled awkwardly as Wong referred to him in his acceptance speech as “movie mogul of the new generation.” But as Wong continued to sing Koo’s praises, the handsome actor jumped in, telling Wong to stop talking about him.
In public, Koo maintains the image of a star, appearing in blockbusters such as action-thriller “Paradox,” which won him best actor awards at both Hong Kong Film Awards and Asian Film Awards last year. His pretty face is often attached to commercial and lifestyle products as their brand ambassadors.
But behind the scenes, the 48-year-old has quietly assumed a role as one the key driving forces behind Hong Kong cinema. One Cool Film Production, which he founded in 2013, has produced a slate of commercial hits...

Sf’s logo is one every Scandinavian is familiar with. A film production company, distributor and the owner of a movie theater chain across the Nordic and Baltic countries until recently, it is a cultural landmark not only in its native Sweden, but also across the Nordic countries.
Founded as Svensk Filmindustri in 1919, Sf played an instrumental role in what is known as the golden age of Swedish cinema. Ambitious productions by directors including Victor Sjöström and Mauritz Stiller, based on famous Nordic literary works, attracted international attention.
After a lull in the 1930s, Swedish cinema enjoyed a revival in the 1940s, partly thanks to the appointment of Sjöström, who had returned to Sweden after working in Hollywood, as artistic director of Sf. As the producer of most Ingmar Bergman films as well as the Astrid Lindgren adaptations, which remain hugely popular across Scandinavia to this day, Sf was firmly...

Sf Studios — the Swedish major that’s turning 100 this year — is banking on the production of high-concept, talent driven English-language and local films, as well as TV series, to become a key European player and thrive in today’s ultra-competitive landscape increasingly dominated by deep-pocketed Ott services.
Once the home of Ingmar Bergman, Sf Studios has in recent years shifted its core model from being almost fully dedicated to distribution to becoming a prolific producer of premium films and TV shows aimed at the international market.
“Our goal is to be the leading studio in the Nordics and a leading studio in Europe, which means that across both TV and film we develop, finance, produce, distribute film in the Nordics and manage international sales,” says Sf Studios’ CEO Michael Porseryd, who’s been spearheading the strategic shift.

The $120 million multinational disaster movie “Inversion” leads a slate of two feature films and a TV series from Hong Kong-Chinese producer and financier Sun Entertainment Culture (Sunec). The two movies mark Sun’s English-language film debut.
Founded in 2011, Sunec has been involved in Hong Kong-Chinese co-productions such as 2017’s “Paradox” and 2015’s “Spl II: A Time for Consequences,” starring Wu Jing. But with the Chinese entertainment industry currently in turmoil after new tax rules have created hurdles for local financing and production, the company is looking to move in a more international direction, expanding into producing content in different languages as it becomes more difficult to produce in the mainland.
Disaster thriller “Inversion” tells the story of a Chinese scientist and an American pilot who must work together to save the world when gravity suddenly disappears. The project originally was set to be written by a team comprised of screenwriter,...

Everything we know about Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, including latest news, release date, price, and much more!
After spending the better part of the last month teasing the possibility, Paradox has revealed that they have been working on a sequel to the cult classic RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
The appropriately named Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is a full sequel to the original game and not a remake or re-imagining as some suspected this upcoming project might be. The game's story takes place in Seattle where an event known as the "Mass Embrace" has left the city overrun with vampires. You play one of the young vampires created during this event. In fact, your first (and main) mission is to find out who it was that sired you during this event that seems to have not been approved by high ranking members of the vampire community.

“Riverdale” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is expanding his hold on the high school drama genre, and the small screen adaptation of classic Archie Comics characters, with “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” for Netflix. “I’ve always loved coming-of-age stories, they’re some of my favorite stories,” he says. In splitting his time between both shows, he is launching the first season of “Sabrina” while constantly looking to find new ways to make the third season of “Riverdale” feel “as fresh and exciting” as a first season show.
What was the entry point for you with adapting “Sabrina”?
The entry point for me was the coming-of-age story. And I love horror — I love the genre. And I love the Archie Comic characters. So this felt like it was a confluence of a bunch of stuff. A lot of horror is set during or tied to coming-of-age — “Carrie” is the best example: Her telekinesis manifests when she hits puberty.

Inarguably this country’s best annual showcase of new Asian cinema, the New York Asian Film Festival is back with a vengeance, and its Savage Seventeenth edition might be the best one yet. Not only is the 2018 program one of the biggest that Nyaff has ever put together, but it’s also likely the most varied and comprehensive, as the lineup includes 58 films of all shapes and sizes.
From the second-highest-grossing blockbuster in Chinese history to a Malaysian horror film that was shot in 2006 and banned until now — from a lewd biopic about a Japanese pornographer to a social drama set in the Philippines’ underground rap community — the Nyaff 2018 slate is as varied as it is thrilling.
While American audiences will have to wait a little while longer to feast their eyes on recent Cannes breakouts like “Burning,” “Shoplifters,” and “Long Day’s Journey into Night,” it’s worth noting that many — most,...

When Sean Baker’s breakout indie “Tangerine” arrived in 2015, its ambitious production caught a lot of attention from the film community due to the originality of its production — it was shot exclusively on a trio of iPhone 5s. The movie was not the first to use the smart phone as its primary camera, but it was the most recognized in a burgeoning field of filmmakers using phones as their primary means of production. The trend hasn’t slowed down.
This week sees the release of Steven Soderbergh’s first foray into iPhone filmmaking, with the psychological thriller “Unsane.” The movie joins a growing list of films — shorts, features, projects actually financed by Apple, and those made specifically because of the frugality of the equipment — shot on the smart phone. For a guy who has never been afraid to take creative risks, it should come as no surprise that Neil Young is starring in a Western. "The man in the black hat... I heard he can be kind of shady." Netflix has debuted the first official trailer for a film titled Paradox, the feature directorial debut of actress Daryl Hannah, which is premiering at the SXSW Film Festival this month. Paradox is described as a "loud poem", a "whimsical western tale of music and love" where "time is fluid." The full cast features legendary musician Neil Young, along with Lukas Nelson, Micah Nelson, Corey McCormick, Anthony LoGerfo, Tato Melgar (of the band Promise of the Real), with Willie Nelson, Charris Ford, and Dulcie Clarkson Ford. This looks like a crazy fun, hyper-real, and totally mesmerizing mash-up of music and story. This also seems like something that would be best seen on the big screen (alas, Netflix) with a bunch of friends chilling out with beers and good vibes. You say “a loud poem” starring Neil Young, and we say, “okay, but just how loud?” Daryl Hannah’s directorial debut, which will have its world premiere at the extremely-appropriate-for-a-music-movie SXSW Film Festival later this week, has now unleashed its first trailer. The film was picked up by Netflix ahead of its debut, and will hit the streaming service by the end of the month.
Billed by its new distributor as “a fantasy, a loud poem and a free-spirited tale of music and love,” the film doesn’t appear to fit neatly into any kind of box. And it’s sure as hell not just some rock doc focused on a beloved icon’s golden years. It’s not even a doc.
