The bug in the scene where Elliott tries to talk to Jude was not actually harmed. He was released immediately following the shooting of the scene in a lovely flower bed along with his understudy. He got quite angry during filming. Hence, his character was listed as "Angry Bug" in the credits.
Jude mentions he listens to Beethoven while painting because there's a study saying "it's supposed to help with your brain or something." Grayson responds, "It's done a lot for you hasn't it?" because, of course, it's Mozart.
The painting Jude is working on in art class is by artist Jessi Clayton, a friend and early artistic mentor of Helena's.
Helena wrote the screenplay based on her own obsession with writing lists, and in figuring out a formula for how to form new relationships with people.
