Forgotten? Not by me!

I first encountered Mr. Bonestell's art sometime in 1966-67. A Thursday (assembly day) in first grade. We saw a film about the planets (many of those images repeated in this brilliant documentary). That's where my obsession with Mars began. This documentary, detailing this brilliant man's life and achievements is well worth seeing. Just a great look at his life.

A brillant film! I so enjoyed learning through the filmmaker the many contributions made to the Space program shown through the eyes of Architect and Artist Chesley Bonestell. The film was thoughtful and educational. It had the viewer captivated with his varied career. So much can be learned from the early space pioneers and this film clearly demonstrates this. A must see for all those interested in the early beginnings of the space program as well as budding architects. I truly enjoyed the film and will for now look at the moon differently.

A great film about an artist who influenced a generation of scientists, artists and film makers.

This is a well told and fascinating story about a truly unique man. I had never heard of Chesley Bonestell, but when I saw his art, I recognized it immediately from books and magazines I had seen as a child. His work remains as spellbinding today as it was then. His space art set the standard for nearly everyone who followed and actually inspired people to get involved with the U.S. Space Program. But he did so much more. Bonestell worked in Hollywood as a matte painter on such iconic films as Citizen Kane. He was involved with the Golden Gate Bridge and the Chrysler Building in New York. But don't take it from me. Watch the film and see what writer Ray Bradbury, director Douglas Trumbull, sound designer/editor Ben Burtt, and many others say about this talented and influential artist.

An incredible film well worth watching!

I was immensely impressed by this film and look forward to watching it a second time. Chesley Bonestell had incredible foresight about space travel and his paintings are beyond amazing. To top it off, he was also a renowned architect (designer of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge).

Douglass Stewart did an amazing job putting this documentary film together!
