On the side of the girls yellow car, a decal that clearly names the car the Thing, is visible. This is a nod to John Carpenters earlier film, the Thing.
This is everything it needs to be!
Just a short ode to an era, and also summing up the recent synthwave/retrowave music scene which throws back to the nostalgic 80's when the original book was released. Like the music genre this short piece from Carpenter leaves everything to the imagination giving you just enough to create your own world based on just a couple of shots on screen and the small elements the music provides is just enough giving the perfect nod to the book and the perfect 80's horror genre with a modern look. Would love to see Christine re-made with a score from the current retrowave music scene
